Does anyone know whether CLEP provides their own course number for each exam?

As we all know, every course and exam has an associated number. EC assigns course numbers to all their exams as well as to DSST exams however they do not assign course numbers to CLEPs. (If you’re an EC grad and review your transcripts, you’ll find none of your CLEP’s is assigned course #.) I’m not sure how the other 2 of the big 3 handle this.

Course numbers are required for many application submissions including Civil Service when documenting course work. For example, if biology was a required course for admission to a specific Civil Service exam, without a course #, one would be unable to submit a biology 6 credit exam.

I’ve searched our forums without success. I also emailed the good CLEP folks and am awaiting their response.

So for those research experts that live for a challenge………..

I believe you can get your CLEP credits placed on an ACE transcript. Here are the corresponding course numbers: ACE | National Guide Online | Browse The Guide
