Retired & refreshed exam credit to Excelsior
#1
Im planning to transfer all my credits to Excelsior but I see that some exams have been refreshed, levels changed (Management Info Systems UL to LL) and I have a few exams that was scored under the 2-digit rubric but I took them way before the exams where refreshed/retired for example Business Law II and USSR. Will these tested still be honored. Also is there a new catalog to see how the credits will transfer in???

So, the exams you took using the scores issued when you took them are what you'll present to EC when you apply - but - the current acceptance policy of when you enroll is what is in effect. So, in a nutshell, yes, they'll accept your exams but hypothetically speaking, say EC decided to stop accepting the Spanish CLEP, then the fact that you took it before that policy went into effect wouldn't get you credit for the exam...but if you were enrolled -and had the credit on your transcript- but then they changed it, you'd be fine and still have the credit. Hope that helps, I feel like I'm making it more confusing than it is lol.

They will most likely be accepted and it's possible that they will be applied in the old way. For example I received a letter grade for my business law clep because it was taken when cleps still received letter grades even though it was submitted to EC years after they stopped giving letter grades for cleps. As always YMMV.

I believe the various Registrar's offices are able to pull up what their policy was in regards to their accepted pass score as of the date you took the exam (not the date you are submitting your scores).
