Review my plan for UMPI Psychology Major & Educational Studies Minor - Please :)
#1
I think I have all my bases covered, but I'd love to get experienced eys on my plan, just to make sure I'm not missing anything, and to get any relevant advice.

I'm basing this on the assumption that a Psychology major with an Educational Studies minor is possible at UMPI, but I haven't actually contacted anyone at UMPI yet to verifiy that.

My plan: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1...edit#gid=0

Thank you!

Interesting spreadsheet, it shows you have 3 credits RA... I looked at your previous threads, you're also working on the Pierpont BOG AAS, those 3 credits are all you need for graded credits, you just need to complete 12 gen ed requirements, the rest can come from Sophia.org as electives. Since you're going for the UMPI degree, the requirements for transfer are already completed when you get to the 90 max credits... So, what I mean by that is, do more Sophia.org classes until you've maxed that out, send them to Pierpont to graduate and continue working on the UMPI degree, from a quick glance, the plan looks good so far.

I actually don't think I'm going to do the Pierpont BOG AAS, after all, because getting an Associates degree messes up my financial aid situation.

Thanks for checking this out, though. I feel better knowing there are no glaring errors. ?

Hmm, I don't think it would mess up anything at all, you're not borrowing money to get the BOG AAS, it should have no issues at all... The borrowing amount should come from UMPI or whatever institution you decide to finish the Bachelors. You're paying out of pocket for the BOG AAS any transcripts or fees that are incurred... It won't really matter, I guess it's best to focus on your UMPI degree and just skip it if you're not wanting to go through with that, you can always add the UMPI AALS as a second program and leave/forget it, you finish those requirements when you complete the Bachelors.

Hi Rachel, how's your experience so far? I read that there is a practicum component for the psychology degree, curious if it has an on-site component, have you taken that class yet?

Thanks in advance for your input!

I haven't gotten to the UMPI classes yet. There is a practicum requirement for now, but I've heard that they're developing an alternative class for that. I'm hoping by the time I get that far, it will be reality. ?

Hi! This looks good, I'm making my own in Sheets as well so this is a helpful example for formatting Smile Just curious, why are two Sophia classes brown instead of red (US history and art history)? And under electives, what do you mean by "need 14 credits total, plus 6 to make up for shortfall above = 21"?

I change the colors of the classes when I'm in the process of completing them. Makes me feel like I'm actually doing something, lol. And 40 Gen Ed credits are required, but I only listed 34 under that particular heading, so I just wanted to remind myself that I still had the additional 6 to complete.

Just noticed your signature, are you thinking of doing International Studies minor or the Educational Studies minor as you mentioned in the original post? If you're looking at the International Studies minor, make sure to transfer in all the credits if at all possible as UMPI doesn't offer that on the YourPace platform, if it's the Educational Studies minor, you may also want to read this thread post of mine: https://www.degreeforum.net/mybb/Thread-...#pid412506

Thanks! I totally understand wanting to see current progress haha. Do you know which of your classes will cover 1C in the GEC? That might be why you're only at 37 credits GEC (if you include Stats). The Wiki recommends Workplace Communication, Business Communication, or Study.com Communications 120. I see you planned on taking Study.com Communication 102 for the 2D requirement, and already took Visual Communication as an elective which also fulfills 2D. So I believe you don't have to take Com 102 unless you want it as an elective, and I would recommend also taking one of the classes that cover 1C to be safe, unless I missed something here! (:

This is kinda extra but I made you an example of what I'm trying to say hahaha
