TESU or UMPI
#1
I’m a little confused with the transfer reports and determining how many credits they are requiring to complete degree. I was initially leaning TESU solely for the lack of 30 credit in house requirement but if I do need to take that many then maybe UMPI is a better option due to being able to finish a lot of classes in one semester.

Can someone look at these 2 reports and help me figure this out?

It looks like a difference of number of classes needed.

For UMPI, you are typically looking at about 2-3 terms for psychology (unless you have a lot of available time), with a minimum of 30 credits taken in house: https://degreeforum.miraheze.org/wiki/UM...egree_Plan

For TESU, looks like you might be pretty close to a single semester at TESU (15 credits) for the discounted tuition or you could even do just 2 classes and do just the capstone and the SOS-1100 course, if you complete some classes via either Sophia or Study: https://degreeforum.miraheze.org/wiki/Sa...egree_Plan

Sophia or Study for missing General Education: https://degreeforum.miraheze.org/wiki/Sa...ts_Roadmap
Written Communication 3SH ENC-1020 English Composition II
Oral Communication 3SH Featured Course(s): COM-2090 Public Speaking
Ethical Leadership 3SH Featured Course(s) ETH-2200 Leading the Way: A Path Towards Ethical Leadership (Zero Textbook Cost)
Civic Engagement and Awareness 3SH Featured Course(s) POS-1100 American Government*

Psych Major classes:
PSY-3220 Research in Experimental Psychology > SDC Psychology 105: Research Methods in Psychology (LL) or Sophia Intro to Psychology
PSY-4000 History & Systems of Psychology > SDC Psychology 312: History and Systems of Psychology (UL)
PSY-3740 Physiological Psychology > SDC Psychology 311: Physiological Psychology (LL)
SOS-4500 Ethics in the Social Sciences > SDC Social Science 108: Ethics in the Social Sciences (LL)

TESU would be more expensive, but fewer classes.

UMPI - two terms (8 weeks each) - ~$3,800

TESU - flat rate tuition - 1 term for 15 credits @ 12 weeks for $3,522 for NJ residents, $4,561 for out-of-state OR
TESU - 1 term for 6 credits @ 12 weeks for $2,640 for NJ residents + $3,400 accelerate fee OR $3,438 for out-of-state + 3,400 accelerate fee

Plus whatever fees for Study and/or Sophia.

Thank you so much for this. What I was really trying to figure out is which way is the fastest and how much more it will cost. Although, 12 weeks vs 16 weeks isn’t really that big of a difference. I am out of state for both. I am willing to pay more for significantly faster but if it’s only a matter of a month or two, that may be different. Could I do study/sophia at the same time I’m doing the classes at TESU? Now say, I wanted to continue on to a masters in psych (clinical counseling) would that impact which way I should go?

You could Study and/or Sophia, but it is usually recommended to handle it before the term starts.

I would recommend UMPI rather TESU, but the reality is that they are pretty close. I think UMPI has less busy work, from having witnessed my wife's work during her 3 terms there.

You did not upload a transfer sheet for UMPI, so it is a little harder to tell what is missing.

I would also recommend UMPI over TESU, even though you can complete the bulk of the remaining credits using the Sophia.org and Study.com combo for TESU. UMPI comes out cheaper, easier, faster, as the TESU Capstone work would be equal to all 10 classes required at UMPI. Furthermore, your preference was UMPI it seems...
