I am located outside the USA, so the option of taking exams online is very appealing. I would like to know the complete cost of taking one TECEP exam. I looked on TESC site and see that for a non-resident the fee for a 3 credit exam is 156 USD.
What Does it Cost to take a TECEP?
Then with testing arrangements it is an additional 75 USD application fee.
Testing Arrangements
Does this mean that each time I want to take a TECEP online this is the process and essentially each exam is: 231 USD ?
Lastly, once I sign up for an exam what are the scheduling options? Does proctorU have fixed times? This might be inconvenient due to the time zone difference.
I'm new to all this, so I may be missing something and would really appreciate advice!

As long as your enrollment is active, you only pay the application fee once, so each 3 credit exam would be $156 ( I guess the raised the price?).
When you sign up for an exam on ProctorU, you pick the day and then a range of times are available. I haven't tried to take on at 3am, but it does look like they go from early in the morning to late at night. I take most of mine on Sundays.

You apply to TESU as a degree-seeking student for $75. Then, when you get your online password, you can register for a TECEP. The cost at that point is $114 for a TECEP (the "matriculated" student fee). No other fees, and this includes the cost for the online proctor.

How long is the $75 fee good for? I read on a thread that it is only 6 months, or am I getting this wrong?
I am only interested in taking the TECEPs, but not becoming matriculated as I'd like to get my degree elsewhere. Once you're matriculated at TESU don't you need to send transcripts and choose a program?

You don't do anything special to become a student there, and you're not required to get a degree there. You can choose any major, but you don't have to send in your transcripts at all. Just sign up, and start taking TECEP's.
Once you take a TECEP, you're considered enrolled for a year, and don't have to pay another $75 application fee at all during that time. If you take another TECEP within a year, then your enrollment extends another year from that date.
