SL English Question
#1
I am trying to finish up the class before my membership renews on Monday. I guess I have two questions: 1. If I submit all the TurnItIn assignments before my membership expires, will they get graded if it expires and show up in my dashboard for credit and allow the course to be completed. 2. Since I already have the required number of points to pass since I did the ones with the highest points available first, can I just submit a blank or near blank paper and have it graded for a 0%?

I don't know about the rest of it, but you can turn in absolute trash. It can't be near blank, but it can be a half-page paper filled with garbage and not meeting the requirements. Just enough so that the grading service has something to look at. I already had a 77 in the course (Comp II) with three assignments left to go. For two of them, I wrote three paragraphs, about a quarter of the word count, with no sources at all and submitted. Got like a 52 on one and a 55 on the other, but it got me scored. The last one I actually spent time on, but all my stuff was graded with ~10 hours left before renewal. I didn't submit through ACE until after my subscription ended, but I still got credit.

I'm going to disagree with this, or at least say they are buckling down on this.
My 2 sons finished English 1 and English 2 last semester. Between them, that was 17 papers each - so from this house, there wer 34 papers turned in! It was a lot of work for both of them. On multiple occasions, they had assignments kicked back for not meeting the length requirement (by only a few hundred words) or in one case the grader thought my son's paper wasn't on topic (which was their error, but I point that out to demonstrate that they don't have to grade off-topic work). There have been several that didn't have enough sources that made it through - but a "tip" my second son discovered, was that sources are part of word count if you're using an auto-calculator like is in Word, so his papers ALWAYS had many more sources than necessary lol.

Son #2 just finished Business Communication, and his experience with the written was much more similar to your experience with Eng2. In fact, he accidently turned in assignment 2 in the assignment 3 slot- they graded it anyway. He then sent a support ticket, and turned it in (identical) in the correct slot, it went through and his final grade posted. (?)
Both of my sons had more than enough points to take zeros if that were allowed, but in the end, they had to do every assignment.

You may be right. I finished them up right before my June 4th deadline, so maybe I just got in during a lax period.

The thing to note is that the rubric literally won't let them grade anything below a 40% (2/5), which means that you MUST at least meet the requirements for the minimum possible score. On my one paper with zero sources, I still got 2/5 on my citation section (they probably shouldn't have done this).

Thanks for the replies. Appears I'll have to subscribe for another month to finish up the course then. With that being said, is there a way to process a membership charge for a month without purchasing a class? The upcoming month might not be the best for me to finish with a baby on the way shortly for my wife and me. So I'm cancel could I just pay the membership fee in a few months to continue?

Yes, cancel the membership and renew when you have the time to get it completed.
You don't have to purchase another course if it's not needed.
If you do need a course, find a coupon before you renew.
