CLEP is good if you have a testing center nearby and/or you have prior knowledge of a given subject. CLEP exams are free through ModernStates.
However, if you don't have prior knowledge of a subject, Sophia is going to be "cheaper" for most people. You can 100% complete a Sophia class before you finish studying for a CLEP exam. Sophia classes are $99/mo. You are allowed to take up to 2 Sophia classes at a time, but as soon as you finish one then you can start on the next. Prior students have been able to finish 30-60 credits at Sophia in 1-2 months. It's rare that anyone can come anywhere close to that with CLEP exams.
Bear in mind that you will need at least 30 RA (equivalent) credits (credits from a college or university). 6 of them MUST come from TESU (the capstone and cornerstone). The cheapest way to fill in the blanks would be to do the capstone, cornerstone, PLA-100, and 3 super easy classes or ePacks at TESU during a single flat-rate term. This would allow you to avoid paying the residency waiver fee, making the degree cheaper. But not everyone has the time/energy to do that. Regardless, you will need to get at least 15 RA or RA-equivalent credits from somewhere.
The absolute cheapest way to do this is to get credits from XAMK or another Finnish university for free/cheap and then have them evaluated at a cost of $200 per evaluation. You can see more information on this process here:
https://degreeforum.miraheze.org/wiki/Fi...iversities
The next cheapest way would be to take TECEPs ($52/credit for LL, $77/credit for UL) or TEL Learning classes ($66/credit). ASU Universal Learner classes would cost a bit more at $400 + $25 per class, but can be really fast/easy options when compared to TECEPs or TEL Learning.
I would strongly recommend using the wiki links to build your own degree plan so that you know where to start and where you'll be getting your credits.
