Both English I & II are solid (lengthy) courses that will definitely help you increase your writing skills. My first thought is always to pass on the Professor option due to cost but you mentioned struggling with the topic. Since writing is such a fundamental part of college, I would encourage you to spend the additional money and get some help for your writing.
In addition, I would encourage you to just start writing more:
Do a daily journal
Watch movies and write reviews/recaps on them
Do a 1 Year & 5 Year Vision statement
All these activities will help develop a stronger writing muscle and might even create a joy of writing.

Honestly,
If you feel you write poorly, and you take instruction well, would you consider a community college for those two courses?
I agree with the above; for me college has been nothing but paper writing and tests.
I took SL ENG I and E4C ENG II; I suppose there may have been ways to get more feedback, but I felt they were more weighted on the post-turn it in, than 'let's help you work your way through making it to turn it in.'

I'm working towards a BSBA in CIS on TESU. After some research I decided to go with English Comp at SL. I'm now wondering if I made the wrong choice. I was concerned with choosing Study over SL because I read somewhere that the final paper is worth 70% of the score. I was able to confirm that Study's grade is 1/3rd based on quizzes, 1/3rd based on 3 essays, and the final 1/3rd based on a proctored final exam. This sounds easier than SL which I read somewhere is 17 essays.
I am not a fan of writing essays. I also read that doing Study.com's English I helps with your grade towards English II. Working full time and trying to complete a course that involves a lot of writing is very taxing. I'm wondering if I'm better off switching my SL course to something different and using Study for English. Any advice would be appreciated.

I took SL english I last year.
I don't remember there being 17 essays, maybe they revised the course?
What I do remember is, if you pass all the chapter / module quizzes, your final exam score didn't have to be as good. (Mine wasn't - lol).
I also remember that it was basically high school English all over again - gerunds, dangling participles, diagramming. Probably was an essay or two.
Because I didn't remember any of that, and wasn't familiar with MLA, I struggled.
But, I passed.
I didn't go with study, because it was my understanding at the time that it was all on the final, pass / fail regardless of the material. IF what you say is true, and you can slam dunk the quizzes and survive the exams, that's a 66% right there outside of the test.
Additionally, I took Ed4Credits' Eng II, and found it roughly set up like SL.
What I have been told, is the easiest thing to do is a DSST that is 6 credits. Study hard for it, and you get eng 1 and 2 all wrapped up in a neat bow, many here have gone that path successfully.
I wouldn't have done 17 essays.
I'm not sure what you mean about your study.com I grade helping you with their II grade, except to say you build on all I's to go into II-that's kinda how it works, I think (no expert there).
I would rank:
DSST
SL
E4C
Study.com
for my preferred learning style.

I was 42% into my Eng 101 course when TESU just came back with my Transcript Evaluation and much to my surprise they have accepted every single credit from over 20 years ago. I now have 45 credits under my belt which included an Eng Comp 101 course. So unfortunately registering for Eng Comp 101 just turned out to be a waste of money. I tried to see if they could just switch it to another course but they said I completed too much of it already.
Now I'm looking for some suggestions in terms of an what might be the quickest course to take. I want to try and get one quickly under the remaining month subscription so I don't have to continue my 99$ monthly membership. Here are most of the courses that I could use towards my degree.
Business Law - BUS110, IT Fundamentals - IT 101 (leaning towards this since this is my background), English Composition II - ENG102, Business Ethics - BUS106, Fundamentals of Speech - COM-108, Microeconomics - ECON102, Principles of Management - BUS201, Accounting I - ACC101, Accounting II - ACC102, Business Statistics - MAT150.

From easiest to hardest or time consuming is as follows: IT Fundamentals, Accounting I, Accounting II, English Comp (lengthy), Business Stats, Business Ethics, Microeconomics (lengthy), Principles of Management, Business Law
For someone in IT and it's in your background, you may just take the Fundamentals of IT and do the final quickly.
My suggestion is, if you are good with Math and want to get a Stats course done, this might be the easiest course other than ALEKS.
How many days do you have left on your membership? Are you looking to take just one course or more?
Do you have your spreadsheet plan made up already indicating what is required/taken for your degree?

I have 11 days left. I think I'm going to let it renew and see if I can bang out 2 courses in that time frame. I doubt I'll complete a course in 11 days. I might go for the IT fundamentals or accounting and stats based on your suggestions. (I am pretty good in Math)
I am updating my spreadsheet plan now.

You can definitely complete the accounting courses in 11 days simply because of the minimal amount of required exams. If you can dedicate a few hours per day, you should be able to get both courses done within that time frame.

The others on the forum are correct, if you have the time to put into the courses, you can complete the one/two in those 10 days.
