Dear all,
The above Saylor courses expired on 03/31/17, any idea if and when ACE-approval might be reinstated?
Thanks

I emailed them about this a while back and received this response:
Quote:Look for the latest CHEM101 entry under the ACE course number "ACPE-0034" or provider name "alternative credit project ecosystem". This is the same course. The dates of validity are 4/1/2015 - 3/31/2018.
We had the course re-reviewed as part of the Alternative Credit Project; ACE keeps those courses listed separately from the course providers' other courses -- I'm sorry for the confusion!

Saylor courses are mostly terrible, and described regularly as "drinking from a firehose." So, Study.com's courses are probably going to be better. On the other hand, if you know the material already, and you just want to take an exam, then Saylor is a good way to do that, because it's cheaper than CLEP/DSST.

I have earned 21 credits so far from Saylor: Macro, Micro, Business Law, Corporate Communication, Intro. to Business, Intro. to Comparative Politics and Principles of Management. Generally, I find that I can score in the mid-60s without studying. That is close enough that I take the practice exams and study those. I take special care to look at the incorrect answers and remember them so that I can eliminate them on the real final. I pass about half of the direct credit finals on the first attempt and then pass the rest on the second attempt. I am curious, though. There is one exam that I have scored a 68 and a 58 on. The rules state that I am limited to three attempts. Does it permanently bar me from further attempts, or is there some situation in which I can get more attempts? Otherwise, I would spend a lot of time studying for the third attempt.

Thanks a lot for the input guys! Will probably go with Saylor, as it would get me a discount at TESU too...

The Study.com discount saves you from taking the Cornerstone ($300), saves you $400 off the tuition for the Capstone, and $700 off the residency waiver. You want to get that discount even if you take just one course over there to get it. If you apply for the guardian scholarship, you can even get six courses for free and still get the discount.

Not much of one, that's certainly not enough of a reason to use Saylor.
