I am looking into enrolling into a degree program where there are prerequisites in science based courses, which I was told if I could at least enroll into one or two, I could then also do the degree program I am trying to get enrolled into at my college of choice. Due to my current work schedule and the schedule of my husband, I am limited to just online courses for these prerequisites at this time.
The prerequisites for the college are not offered there, via online, so I am looking to find another school that does offer them online. I need to take Intro to Chemistry (college lists CH 104 and CH 105) as well as Human Biology (BSC 215 and BSC 216). Are these available ANYWHERE online where I can transfer the earned credit from those courses to my regionally accredited college?
The other prerequisites are NHM 101- Intro to Nutrition, NHM 195 Intro to Dietetics & Nutrition, NHM 201 Nutrition in Life Cycle and NHM 253 Food Science. I think those courses may be harder to find via online though
I appreciate any feedback or suggestions anyone is able to pass along. Thank you

Yep, many places. Here is where I took mine: Ocean County College they have labs as well. You do the labs at home using the lab kit and email pics/lab reports in along with your homework. Some online classes have "virtual labs" that are computer simulations, so you may want to choose one that best fits what you're looking for. I liked the hands on labs! I'm sure Spring registration is soon, also look for the "quick term" options because they have short and long semesters.

Thank you! They only have one of the prereqs I need, but at least it is one WebAdvisor
And that course has a prereq, CK 101, which I can't even find what that is :/ I have a feeling I wont even be able to get into these Science classes due to all of these prereqs. Last Science class I ever had was Chemistry I in high school which was in 1996

Look at different community colleges in your state. Often there will be at least one school with multiple start dates within a semester. If you can't find anything, I know Rio Salado college in AZ has many of the classes you need with classes starting every week, but out of state tuition is around $200/cr. Good luck!

Thanks Dew- Cost is not too much concern nor is paying out of state tuition since military- Actually 200$/hr is cheap compared to a lot of what I have come across. Not finding anything offered locally that fits my needs, even with a lot of colleges in the area. I will look into Rio Salado college in AZ as well. Thank you

No, check again. I just found 4 of them: gen bio with lab 1 & 2 as well as gen chem with lab 1 & 2. FWIW, I enrolled without the intro or algebra prereqs. I don't remember if I simply enrolled and they didn't ask about it or if I had to talk to an advisor on the phone, but they let me in no questions asked. I also had them waive the asset (or was it compass?) placement test.

Awesome! I really appreciate your help- the lab kit looks really interesting too.
However, now I have another problem. The college I am looking to enroll in for their Dietetics programs is not contacting me back to let me know if either the courses available at Rio Salado or Ocean County will be accepted to meet their requirements for the prerequisites. This is getting ridiculous as I have finally settled on a major, finally found a school that offers and online dietetic program and NOW I cant get that college to contact me back. If I have to attend two colleges, I am going to need to spend even more time talking to the VA to get all the paperwork sorted and then have my college transcripts sent to two different schools. I am getting frustrated and disappointed and not sure what I am supposed to do now

Just some advice, have a little more patience. These schools move slow since they are government run in most cases.
My school, Thomas Edison, takes 6-7 weeks to tell you how your existing classwork will transfer into their school. Thats a long time to wait.
I day is really not that long.

I am trying to be patient, but it has been days and nothing. When people are trying to get proper enrollment information for a college where money is going to be paid to that college for a service, better "customer service" should be given. It shouldn't take a week, or several weeks, for a proper response. There should be more than ONE person who can answer basic questions about the program such as where prerequisites are accepted from. After reviewing all of the Dietetics degree programs available online, U of Alabama is really the ONLY one I can enroll into as the others are for people already working in the field or where internships have to be completed within the schools state or you already have to have an Associates in Dietetics, which I do not have.
Kaplan does have bachelors in nutrition science, but the program is 67k$!! And it "Kaplan Universityâs Bachelor of Science in Nutrition Science program is not accredited by the Commission on Accreditation for Dietetics Education (CADE). While the Bachelor of Science in Nutrition Science program is designed to academically prepare students to pursue a variety of nutrition-oriented careers and advanced education, the program does not lead directly to certification as a registered dietitian" That is insane to pay that kind of money for a degree in nutrition that doesnt even allow you to take the RD exam after graduation. U of Alabamas online Dietetic program is around 27K for the degree which after graduation you can sit for exam to become registered dietetican.
I may just enroll into Rio Salado or Ocean County to get some sciences done for right now. I don't think I will be hearing from anyone at UofA before the end of enrollment period for classes that start in Jan
