Short-term Pell for online?

It's silly to exclude online programs. Most adults can only get their degree by taking courses online due to work and family commitments. This is just yet another way that Congress is out of touch with the public. I guess that's what happens when you have so many Traditionalists in charge. They have no idea what life is really like for the majority of the population in 2022.

Online degrees are now and will still be Pell eligible. This proposal is about non-degree training, so this is still an expansion of Pell.

There are many online programs which are 7 or 8 weeks long. Pell is a pain with those because all of the schools who have these sessions don't have semesters. Pell is awarded by the semester not the 8 week session. And there are sooooo many online programs today. Online education has only grown the last 2 years.

Not 7 to 8-week terms for individual courses but the entire program. Currently, grants can only be used for programs that are at least 15 weeks long, so at least a semester. They're wanting to change the rules to allow the Pell Grant to be used for shorter programs that can be finished in 8 weeks.
