So OVER Amazon Logisitics - switching to Locker!
#1
So I ordered the textbook for my capstone exam. Two day Prime. Received the delivery notifications and then got a call saying they could not get beyond the gate without an access code.

I inquired - UPS, USPS, and FedEx never had issue getting beyond the community gate...who is making this delivery? Amazon Logisitics (whom I've heard of but never used before). I asked what option on the website would have indicated "delivery by Amazon Logistics" and I was advised that "no one knows." When an item is ordered the delivery method is determined by the location of the item once the order is placed....so there is nothing within my power that I can do to ensure that all my ducks are in a row to retrieve my package.

I ended up having to provide another address (within 1 mile of my door) to have the package delivered. Which means I have to rely on someone else to receive my package AND then change my schedule around to go get my package before the new receiver closes for business. There isn't anything I'll be able to do in the future to avoid it since "no one knows" how these things are dispatched.

Of course, I asked about the amazon locker system (I've seen these everywhere) - just what it sounds like, and sits outside the grocery store. You walk up to it, enter a predetermined key and your designated locker opens to reveal the item you ordered. "Is that an option, for future," I asked. "I don't know anything about that." was the response I received. Okay, thanks.

Per the Amazon.com site, You can add a locker location to your address book and use them like you would your own residence (for both deliveries and returns)! I added my local box - named Rosalind - and will use this option moving forward. I know I cannot escape the occasional delivery (or call center agent) mishap - but I don't like the atmosphere of ignorance and non-accountability when issues arise. How about "I don't know, but let's see if we can find out." I don't know. something.

Rant Over.
