Social Science Exams HELP!!!!!

I'm in the process of trying to recieve my CCAF by Summer 2014. I have 27 credits left to complete and I'm trying to CLEP or DSST as many as possible. I've already taken and passed the Principles of Supervision DSST and the College Algebra CLEP, and soon to be taking the Principles of Management CLEP. I want to take a Social Science CLEP or DSST after I complete POM, unfortunately all Social Science Exams do not transfer over to my CCAF so my choices are limited. Out of this list which ones are the easiest or more "do-able" in a 1-2 week study time? Introductory Psychology, Introductory Sociology, Principles of Macroeconomics, Principles of Microenomics, History of the US I, Western Civilization I or II, General Anthropology, Life-Span Developmental PSychology. Thanks in advance!!!!!

My vote would be intro to Psychology or sociology I remember them as being 2 of the easier exams if you have any basic knowledge to start with. My next choice would be Life span, but again that depends on prior knowledge. If you are young and out of high school in the last 5 years I would say the US history or Western Civ are exams you might have knowledge fresher in your mind.

I took psychology in high school and remember some of the main concepts, but I also just got out of high school in 2011. I think im going to go with the US History I and if I dont pass it (god forbid) I'll take the Intro to Psychology. Thanks for the help

I passed Introductory Psychology with a 70 using only InstantCert. I haven't done any of the other ones, but I have heard that most of them are fairly straightforward to study for using IC. If you've never used the flashcards before, here's a rundown of how I usually use them (it does tend to vary quite a bit between people).

Starting with the first section under that exam topic:

1st time through: Answer any I happen to know, otherwise don't answer and read the questions and explanations carefully. I usually score somewhere in the vicinity of 20% on the set..

2nd time: Answer ones I remember from the first time through, DO NOT answer ones I don't know, so that I don't associate an incorrect term with the problem, etc. Generally score around 40-50%

3rd time: Randomize flashcards and continue answering any that I know. I will sometimes guess on ones I think I know, but I try to avoid confusing myself for later (I know I associate that this term with this process, but I can't remember if it's the right term, or just the one I always typed in (incorrectly)). Approx. 60-70% After completing a set over 70%, I will go through all the ones I got wrong repeatedly, until they are all right, then proceed.

Going forward: Randomize flashcards, work through the set, do the set of all wrong questions from whole set until they are all right, repeat until reaching 90% three times in a row. (Will sometimes count one 87-89% try if I feel comfortable with the set).

Move on the the next set for that test and start from step one.

Take the test and pass!

Thanks for that study plan, I usually study the flascards one section a day(going through it several times until I get at least 90% right) and continue the next day with the next chapter, then combining the one from the day before and so on. Your way seems way easier, as I find myself going through a set at least 8 times lol thanks!

Thanks for sharing your strategy! Here's what I'd like to suggest on your next test! Well done on the Psych test. I'm planning to take it after Christmas. The information contained in the IC cards is were the scores are when you do the CLEP test by taking time to type each answer you aren't observing the surrounding text as much as if you read over it and clicked the continue button. It also eliminates the spelling errors you make get if you can't spell those terms correctly this also saves time. In certain courses randomizing the cards gives you a test like feel as the CLEP test isn't in chronological order at times. In certain courses though its better to do U.S History slide section by section that way you can recall what comes before and after because in the test your ability to recall information and analyze it will be tested. This establishes patterns for your brain to help you recall the information later. Randomizing can put US Grant and his home in Galena IL alongside the drunken Hessians across the Delaware this isn't helpful for associations to hook your memory too. Although the test can be random with the way they ask questions.
