I have one credit left for 3c/e science gen ed. My transfer credit provided 2 out of the 3 and so Ive been told I have to take the bio lab course to fulfill the single remaining credit because they don't offer any other YourPace options. I would like to avoid the 13 labs, one of which includes an owl pellet and mice bones. Just not my thing and I have a strong aversion. Would I be able to take the Sophia human biology with lab instead even though I'm a current student at UMPI? Sorry if this is a silly question.

Yes, you can take the class on Sophia. You need to request permission from Jessica first and then send your transcript once you complete the course.

In addition to taking the Sophia.org class for your science and lab, you should provide us more details, what degree are you going for at UMPI? Did you try to max the transfer credits? Do you already have an evaluation? How many courses remain? You might want to post your evaluation without your personal details and we can provide you a list of recommended classes. Here's the addendum and template, you may want to fill in the details to provide us a better overview of your situation. https://www.degreeforum.net/mybb/Thread-...Area-works

Remember that your lab science course must come from the same source for UMPI. So, if you already have Biology from another source you would still need both from Sophia (meaning take both their 'Human Biology' and the 'Human Biology Lab'). Do you already have an existing Biology course from somewhere other than Sophia?

Fortunately, Human Biology itself is pretty quick/easy to do! The 1-credit lab will probably take more time than the 3-credit class.
In progress:
TESU - BA Computer Science; BSBA CIS; ASNSM Math & CS; ASBA
Completed:
Pierpont - AAS BOG
Sophia (so many), The Institutes (old), Study.com (5 courses)
ASU: Human Origins, Astronomy, Intro Health & Wellness, Western Civilization, Computer Appls & Info Technology, Intro Programming
Strayer: CIS175, CIS111, WRK100, MAT210

Yes! I received instructions before my term started that I could do whatever classes I needed there, and the only thing they wanted to make sure of, was sending them in groups, versus trickling them in. Since you are only doing one class, stacked, you won't be someone who trickles stuff in anyways. I did not have to recieve approval each and every time, and they've been accepting my transfers during my UMPI term, without hiccup.

Stacked... That's exactly what I usually tell people to do, have a batch or set of courses completed when you send your credits in for evaluation and continue on with other credits. Actually, nowadays, I tell people to do a provider at a time if they use more than one, in addition to having batches of courses added. Further to that, try to max the 90 credits before starting at UMPI...
