Straighterline English Comp I
#1
I am currently taking my first straighterline course, english comp I. I was wondering if I have to turn in a draft, or can I just turn in the graded final draft of the writing assignments? I have completed all the quizes except the final exam. Can anyone shed some light on the situation?

Yes you can just submit the final draft. That is what I did.

I submitted a draft, for one and did not submit a draft for one. The one I did not submit the draft I got a 20 out of 21. The one I did submit as a draft, I got the draft back, corrected, revised it and submitted for final, and got a 10 out of 21! :toetap: not sure i agree...

I am retaking English comp II with Straighterline. I have turned in two papers without submitting a draft and received a 21 on the first and a 14 on the second. The second had one very minor correction mentioned and said "Nice Job!" but then gave me the equivalent of a D. I do not believe you will see consistent grading with these courses.

I also beleive that the consistency in grade is subpar. Is the class transfered to Excelsior for a pass/fail grade or an acutal letter grade? Will this effect my GPA?

Provided every paper follows the 5x5 format, is based around a thesis statement, uses transitional phrases and gets spell/grammar checked, a student should be pretty much guaranteed an 80% pass.

I remember the first couple of papers/submissions for the English Composition I course. These were the interpretative papers of ~500 words for the photograph, etc. I was scoring ~15/21 which I couldn't understand until I just straight-up used the format and sent drafts in to be spell/grammar checked and request mechanics to be looked at. Asking for anything more and I was receiving bloody research papers back with suggestions all over the shop. :hurray:
