Straighterline Pricing Confusion
#1
Sorry, I might be dense but it looked like I was required to not only pay the 74 for the course but 100 for a membership to take intro to comm. for a total of 174 (50 from coupon) Did I do this right?

Correct. $100/month membership fee, plus the course fees. The more courses you complete in a month, the more that $100 is put to use. Save money by using as few months as possible.

Apparently there's a 100 off right now. Check this thread (a post by melody75) http://www.degreeforum.net/saylor-org-st...egies.html

Before you sign up, look at the courses you want to take and prepare the materials you need ahead of time. I personally prefer ebooks as they can be searched easily.
You should be able to complete a few courses in a month, especially some of the easier ones that don't require a lot of writing. Intro Comm is fairly easy and doesn't need a lot putting into the videos. Religion and Cultural Anthropology are straightforward too. All three courses should be doable in a month.
