I dunno, but why not use ALEKS to get the credit, and forgo the CLEP?

Instantcert and ALEKS are two completely unrelated things. Sorry, but your question makes no sense. (ALEKS has nothing to do with CLEP's)

I thinking the poster is trying to discuss using the aleks program to learn the material and study the material before he takes the clep.

Why would you do that, when after you have passed ALEKS you already have the credit?

One reason: maybe the school doesn't accept ALEKS. I have never done ALEKS, but if their assessments are similar to CLEP, they might actually be a pretty nice study tool, since it tracks your progress and would give you a real readiness indicator.

Having used ALEKS, I believe it would be a good study tool if your school doesn't accept ACE reviewed credit. If it does, use ALEKS to get the credit via an ACE transcript.

I found ALEKS more useful and quicker if used in conjunction with something else, but it would probably not be InstantCert. IC is great, but IMHO quantitative topics are not its strength. Demystified or Idiot's series, Cliffs, videos, or the right (for you) textbook, depending on how much explanation you like and how long ago your last math education was.

How do i know which schools accept ace?

You would have to ask them directly most likely. Some may have it listed in their catalogs. ACE is "ra" so it is often accepted (up to a certain credit limit) at many institutions.
