Study.com question

Hey guys,

I never use study.com before, how are their course, I've always use SL. Are the quizzes proctor? I've read you have to get 70% on the proctor final to pass, but I've seen people said they pass with lower than that, can I please get some info before I sign up.

Most people pass with anywhere between 55 and 60 percent on final as quizzes make up 1/3 of the grade for course. I've completed 2 courses with them will be completing my 3rd this week

Quizzes are not proctored. You need 70% between the quizzes and final. They are not evenly weighted. On the syllabus you can see how many points the final is worth and how many points for all the quizzes. It is easy to get 100% or almost 100% on the quizzes because you get 3 tries and they count the highest quiz score.

Quizzes are not proctored. There are quite a few of them. They break every lesson (there are usually about 100 lessons per course) down into about a 5-8 minute lesson which you can either watch a video for or read a transcript or do both if you so choose. After that lesson you take a quiz of about 5 questions. Many of the quiz questions are repetitious. It can seem like a lot of busy work and very tedious at times. However, I found that by the time I had watched or read all the lessons and went through the quizzes I was pretty prepared for the final. If you aim to get between 80-100% on all the quizzes you usually only need around 55% to pass the final. It is a good idea to take the practice final too. It is not proctored and it just gives you an idea if you are ready for the proctored exam. I found it to be pretty accurate. If I was scoring 80 - 90% on the practice final I knew I was ready. Although I'm sure you can score less on the practice final and still be fine. I never scored less than 80% on a practice final though because the material/quizzes really prepared me (even when the course wasn't something I was interested in or I felt I just wasn't getting it). There are also flashcards you can look at and chapter practice exams. Those do not count toward your final grade but are good for preparation. I didn't always need them but if I was struggling with a particular concept I would go back to that chapter and review. I found study.com to be pretty user-friendly for my particular style of learning. I think I took about 9 courses with them over 12 weeks. I've heard straighterline is faster but I was pretty happy with my progress.
