Summer 2021 Session 1 Updates

Hello! I’m currently in class #8 for summer session 1. I’ve been using basically every spare second I have to knock this many out. It’s been exhausting. With about two weeks left in this term, next up is Advanced Accounting. Has anyone taken this class and if so, how time consuming did you find it? I’m trying to determine if I have enough time... 

I can provide insight in accounting courses but need info about your upcoming and past courses.

What courses have you taken and which ones do you have remaining?

I’ve taken all but cost accounting, intermediate 2, and non-profit/government accounting 

I completed those courses. I would also contact Cody and Jessica about the course load because there is a cut off date of adding new courses. Also, some courses might not be available right now.
I would consider a third term because
1) around two weeks remaining to complete three courses.
2) around a week remaining to submit final drafts for essays/papers/journal entries
3) a lot of material to learn especially intermediate 2, and Government and Non-profit Accounting.
4) there is a combination of milestones, journal entries and essays.

Yes, definitely was not going to attempt them all. Advanced accounting is the only thing available right now, so I was just thinking about that one. I contacted Jessica to see if it would work or not. I will be taking the other three next session for sure. I also have business law 2 left for next session. Have you taken that one? Curious what type of final that has. Thanks!

Has anyone completed Database Management? I’m working on the final and keep getting this error message. Trying to figure out what I’m doing wrong ?

Thanks to Sophia, SDC, InstantCerts, & Straighterline (also with the help of some credits from CC like 12 years ago) I'm now left with 6 upper level electives (plus English 2 and some creative writing class) to complete my BLS with Management minor (and then I'll have to take 2 more unnecessary random classes for residency purposes)

Anyhow-- Those who have taken UL courses at UMPI, are there any that you recommend or do not recommend? Jessica said she'd give me a list to choose from but I thought I'd reach out here to see if anyone has suggestions. I start July 5 and PRAY I can work my rear off and get it done in 8 weeks.

I would wait until Jessica gives you the list and see what's available. Every class isn't offered every term. There are new classes coming as well as there are new concentrations coming. If you haven't taken BUS141 Intro to PM at UMPI I would NOT take BUS400 or BUS401. They both build on the project template and format you create in BUS141 for the Final Assessment. If you haven't taken BUS141 at UMPI it's like adding a whole project to create the templates and workout the formatting. Some UL courses are exams for the Final Assessment and others are papers or projects. It all depends which you prefer. She'll be able to tell you what the Final Assessment is for each course. They do change occasionally as do the professors.

Eng Comp 2 I completed in 3 days. Don't stress over that one! And by completed I mean the course content, the rough draft written, submitted, returned to me, edits made, and the final version of the Final Assessment was submitted in 3 days. Same with American Government. Those 2 are wicked easy.

I know BLS is a 'terminal degree' but does that mean I cannot transfer my credits to a different school and complete a second Bachelors elsewhere? I would like to eventually get a BS but due to time constraints I need a Bachelors ASAP so BLS was the best option for the moment.

this entirely depends on the school you transfer to. They have their own policies etc. UMPI will provide you a full transcript that even includes your transferred ACE courses.

Only class I have left is ENG 151 but I missed the deadline to add a new course. Does anyone know what transfer course would be equivalent to ENG151? I rather take it somewhere else and transfer it rather than signing up for a new session.. I know study has an equivalent but want to explore options before singing up

Just an FYI...based on another thread you'd have to transfer that course in before the end of the term. Which class do you think Study is an equivalent for? Have you checked with Jessica? You'll need permission to transfer it in.

Oh wow, had no idea about having to transfer in before the end. Based on the transfer equivalences ENG103 at Study would satisfy it. I did contact Jessica and waiting for her response now. I’ve gotten permission before for BIO at Study so we will see!

When does your term end? Could you not just finish that course at UMPI faster than at Study.com? I wonder how long it would take for either course.
