Does anyone here know if the TECEP exams through TESC are the same as the finals for the same courses?
I want to pursue a BSBA through TESC and eventually be a CPA. The CPA requirements in my state make it clear that the Business/Accounting credits can't be earned through Dantes/CLEP. They make no mention of TECEP, and I was thinking of getting several of the business courses out of the way by utilizing these exams.
Are you awarded a letter grade for these exams on your transcripts? Would a course such as Business Policy show up as BUS-421-TE on your transcript rather than BUS-421 if you were to take the TECEP exam for that particular course?
Once again, thank you for help.

It will have the course number (BUS421) but will be pass/fail only- no grade. I wouldn't risk it. IF they don't take CLEP/DSST, they don't take TECEP (they also probably don't take a million other options not listed)
If you really want to try it, you should call your state's department of professional licenses or whoever decided the "no CLEP" rule)
Why not CLEP all of the 60 gen ed credits, most of your business classes, and take your CPA classes at your local community college and/or online? That way you take full advantage of exam credit through TESC and local tuition at home! Add in the bonus that your credit won't be "questionable" and you are good to go!

I've already CLEPed out of 30 Gen-Ed credits. I passed the five generals: English, College Math, Nat Science, Social Science/History and Humanities. I only have 18 left.
I was debating whether or not I should CLEP out of them because I wasn't sure if grad schools frown upon it. It seems like most universities typically allow for a max of 30 credits by examination.
I see you got into Harvard UE with a BA from TESC. Congrats. How many credits did you test out of?
I know I need 24 business credits and 30 accounting credits above the introductory level. TESC only offers 21 accounting credits above the introductory level, so I'll be taking all of them and then onto grad school.

Always keep an eye on the goal post- if classes are what you need for grad school - then take classes.
I tested out of almost 1/2 my degree. Courses at Harvard University's Extension are open enrollment- even at the grad level which is what I did. You can apply for the masters of liberal arts degree plan after you pass 3 extension courses in your proposed concentration with a B or better. I hit the "pause" button since I ran out of $, but the proseminar (required prereq) must take place on campus before you can apply. This was $10K that I didn't have. Anyway, I have since decided to do a very inexpensive local program, however, I wouldn't hesitate to suggest courses at HES, mine were TOP RATE and awesome quality. If money were no object, I'd be registered for summer.
