TECEP and Residency Wavier Question
#1
Hey guys,
I was Skulking around the forums and came across dfrecore's post http://www.degreeforum.net/excelsior-tho...eceps.html and got confused about something maybe its just the fact that my sleep deprivation is finally catching up to me.

My degree plan I made back in december 2015 and wanted to get to the 96 credit mark (currently have 73) before applying to TESU, I haven't applied yet, and it looks like I won't be able to until after July 1st (I hope they don't change to much) hopefully they will accept me for the december graduation.

Anyway back to my question, according to dfrecore's post I don't have to take any of the TECEP tests that I have lined up I have 24 credits worth if I pay the $2,000 residency wavier fee? because if I don't need to take those I'll need to swap those tests out for either straighterline tests or CLEP/DSST tests

That's right, you just need to take 24 credits in place of those TECEPS. My suggestion is to get your degree plan finalized by applying and also getting an evaluation.
You can check out the degree plans available on the DegreeForum.wikia.com Wiki and also review the Basic Approach - Online Education Guide.
I've added two sample excel spreadsheets for BSBA CIS and BSBA General Management, it's practically the same but for the AOS (Area of Study)

This outline says TECEP still fulfills residency requirements. Have we figured out who is right?
End goal is to get a cheap bachelor degree {CIS} that transfers to online master's degree at ncsu. I'm thinking statistics because less prerequisites. Vs computer science.

Started in January 2016 after NC prevented enrollment in WGU.
Clep, Dsst: Statistics, Macroeconomics, Microeconomics, World religions, Intro to Computers, American Government, Sociology, Fundamentals of Cybersecurity, Prin finance.
Straighterline: C++, Intro Comm, Accounting 1, Accounting 2, Business law, Managerial Acct, Business ethics, Into business, Organizational behavior,
CSU Global: Basic programming COS-208, Systems Analysis and Design.
TECEP: Network Technology, Strategic Management, business in society.
Saylor: Bus210 for Bus311 credit

denied enrollment to WGU October 2015 b/c NC sucks.
Prep for WGU: A+, NET+, Project+, Security+, CCENT, OCA java.

Look at the date it was posted: Posted Tuesday, September 23, 2014.

It is old and outdated information. TECEPs no longer count for residency.

that blog post is from Sept 2014. If you look at the link in item 11, it references the new requirement of 16 credits through courses.

Those TECEPs would do you no good anyway as TECEPs no longer count for residency.
