TESC Associates
#1
Hey,

I think I've got all the credits I need to graduate with an associates from TESC, but I'm missing English Comp 2. I have English Comp 1, Oral Comm, and Business Comm but for some reason I never bothered to take English 2.

What do you think my best bet is for completing this course? CLEP? Straighterline? Something else?

Also, If I've completed all of the required courses, and I apply to TESC, what kind of fees do I have to pay to graduate and everything? I'm a NJ resident if that changes anything.

Thank you

The three main options for completing English2 on this forum seems to be the CLEP exam, Straighterline exam, and some people have taken a course through Penn Foster. Most take the CLEP test because it is 6 credits and fairly easy, if you are a native English speaker. The SL ENG-2 exam consists of reading Frakenstein and some people didn't enjoy reading it.

I think the best bet is to study for the CLEP for a few days to brush up on grammar and maybe work on your essay writing.

You need to pay TESC an application fee, an enrollment fee, and a graduation fee. Being a NJ resident just means that enrollment is cheaper.

I envy NJ residents when it comes to TESC enrollment fee.

So even if I have the entire degree completed prior to enrolling I still have to pay 1,000 + dollars? granted it's not as bad as it could be, but I'm a little annoyed that I would have to pay an enrollment fee when I'm not actually taking any courses from them. If that's the case then I may be better of just waiting until I have enough for the bachelors!

Once you get enough credits for a bachelors, you could graduate with a bachelor's and Associates from TESC same time...
