TESC Graduation Ceremony... who's going?
#1
I am planning on going. Last Friday was the last day to RSVP so I figured I'd ask if anyone else from these boards will be there.

Also, they asked for height and weight for the gowns, but nothing for the caps. Anyone know how that works? Do they mail them to us before the actual day?

Congratulations on graduating! Please let us know all about it. With luck (and a bit more work!), I'll be in your shoes - or mortarboard - next June.

CONGRATULATIONS! I'm seriously considering attending the April commencement ceremony, unless something earth-shattering keeps DH and I here.

You pick up your cap and gown at the war memorial on graduation day. The caps are one size fits all. It is a great ceremony and worth the trip. I did it once for my AA and once for my BA. Of course I only lived an hour away then.

Congrats on your graduation and enjoy the day.

Linda,

A bit off topic, but here goes. My plan is to graduate next June. Do you have any suggestions for places to stay in Trenton? Also, are there museums, etc. and things to do/see there? If not, how can I make a nice weekend of it? Are the Jersey beach towns close? Any advice is appreciated.

Ann,

Who knows? If I get my act together, maybe I can graduate in April. "Get act together" being the operative phrase! Good luck on your journey.

Trenton is about 20-30 miles from Philadelphia, about 50 miles from NYC, and about 40 miles from the Jersey Shore. You could take a train to Philadelphia or NYC, but you could easily spend a full weekend or more exploring either city. The shore may not be the most relaxing experience due to traffic and you need cooperation from mother nature.

Most of the attractions in Trenton are located fairly close to TESC. Here is a website with things to do in Trenton.

Personally, I suggest staying near Philadelphia on the way to or on the way back from graduation. Eat at Reading Market Terminal, see the Liberty Bell and Independence Hall. It's all very walk-able. If the weather is lousy, you can go on a tour of the U.S. Mint. There are plenty of museums and you always have the option of just lounging. Before/After graduation you'll be able to see the sites in Trenton.

Muricles, Thanks for the info. Philadelphia is a lovely city, and I plan to visit it (again) next month. NYC, too, is fascinating. I'll probably be visiting there in the winter. I've always driven through NJ, so I figure this is the time to stop and see its treasures.
