My journey toward the AS started in 1970 and was conferred by Excelsior College on January 15, 2010. I received the diploma in the mail today, January 19th. Since there have been questions posted here about that subject, thought I would just update it. In hands only 4 days after conferral--not bad, EC.
There was also a form stating that there is a "Continuation Discount" as long as you enroll in a baccalaureate degree within one year at the cost equal to the Student Service Annual Fee. I had previously been told this was not going to be available -- so this should be GOOD NEWS to others, at this time.
By the way, when I returned to college in 2007 after a very long hiatus, it was thinking I would only complete the AS. Because of stumbling upon this site in December of 2008 while looking for help with study material for taking a few CLEPs to speed up the process through my community college, I have learned so much that I am well on my way to a BS with approximately 89 credits accrued to date -- as long as EC uses them all toward the BS.
If this old broad can accomplish this with the help of my IC friends, you younger kids have no excuses. It makes me want to quote my brother who has since passed who used to remind me regularly, "Don't let the bastards get you down," when someone tries to tell you that you could not accomplish something.
Phase 1 down, now onto completing phase 2.

Grats P000!
Allow me to introduce myself. My name is Wile E. Coyote, genius. I am not selling anything nor am I working my way through college, so let's get down to basics: you are a rabbit and I am going to eat you for supper. Now don't try to get away, I am more muscular, more cunning, faster and larger than you are, and I am a genius, while you could hardly pass the entrance examinations to kindergarten, so I'll give you the customary two minutes to say your prayers.
Bachelor of Science in PsychoRabbitology degree
Master of Education with a specialty in Rabbit-specific destructive munitions (or eLearning & Technology, I forget which)
Doctor of Philosophy in Wile E. Leadership with an area of specialty in Acme Mind Expansion - 2017 Hopefully

Judy,
I'm so happy you have your degree in hand. I know how hard you worked for it! I'm in the same boat as you. I came here just to get my AS done. I finished that and am now one exam away from finishing my BSLS. It is addictive when you realize you can do this...even at our age! We can do this and we deserve it for ourselves. Congrats! Go out and celebrate now that your well deserved AS is on you wall!

Congrats Judy! :hurray: Thank you for posting your accomplishment. Your words and wisdom have been an inspiration to many us. Also you have shown it is not that much harder getting your BA done. Why not, you are already half way there! Keep up the good work Judy.
Also Marianne202, what vitamins are you taking to get all of your stuff done? WOW girl you are just smoking out those degrees. Not bad for someone that is over 40 and fabulous!

Thanks to all and, yes, Nap the support is key!
I don't think we can thank the other members of this forum enough for not just the encouragement which is appreciated but the sharing of the knowledge of how to accomplish things. This was always one of the biggest hurdles for me. Trying to navigate the BM college, its lingo, and its requirements which seemed to constantly shifting was just daunting and I think it is for many.
So many people here have had the patience to explain over and over again to all who are new and help them (and me) navigate these waters.
Another test tomorrow, as I work toward the next goal!
