TECEP Psy270 psychology of women
#1
Hey guys I'm taking this exam next week and I'm so nervous!
Any advice?
#2
We all understand why you are nervous.... No amount of study will ever help you understand the psychology of a woman! Smile

Good luck with your test...

This was my first exam before I found IC and I had not been in a class in almost 20 years. I passed it using only the recomended text. If you know basic psychology and the history of the womens movement you are halfway there.

What are you using to prepare?

I found it easy but I had background in sociology and psychology subjects to build on. Plus I'm a woman which in itself gets you an easy 10-15 answers just from life experience.

I have study notes, if you want a copy PM me your email adddress. Make sure your comfortable with gender roles (ch 2).

I see I am beaten to the punch on understanding psychology of women!

They truly are a difficult subject for men. I would probably fail out of a womens studies degree when it might be a piece of cake for a woman.

Several years back I printed all of the practice tests to the TECEPs and took them all. Psychology of women was the one I scored highest on. No prep, no background other than a psych 101 class from years before. I can only suggest not over thinking it. If the final was anything like the questions on the TECEP you can kind of "figure out" where the person who wrote the question "is coming from". That's what I basically did. I got the very specific factual stuff wrong, like knowing who wrote what. But any scenario type question seemed quite formulaic to me and you could easily eliminate a couple "obviously" wrong choices. Good luck!

I need to take a TECEP as well, but don't know diddly about the process. I'm a TESC student and my advisor recommended I take one TECEP to graduate.

I'll look....but in the meantime, anyone have advice, tips, insight.....recommended study material to pass a TECEP? Link to study guides, etc?

Thank you VERY kindly. cheersmate

The only tip I know is that the TECEPs are very specific to the recommended reading for the TECEP. So you shouldn't try too hard to get info outside of the textbooks they suggest.

dblhelx: are you man or women? Psyc. of women is best if a women. I took 2 TECEPs but the second one fundamentals of word processing is no longer available it was a gift 3 credits. You do not get a gradr for TECEPs so why recommended unless you are comprehensive plan?

I'm a man, Linda. But I'm interested in the ENS-208 Science of Nutrition TECEP, so I was trying to get feedback on TECEP's in general. I see on the TESC website that each TECEP has a recommened textbook. I found that one used for under $20, so I'll get that text, study the hell out of it and most likely pass that TECEP.....it's an exam my TESC advisor said I can take to satisfy UL credit.
