TESU 2nd Accelerated BSN Program
#1
I am considering if this would be an easier route for me after I earned my BSAST in TS and after my contract in the service ends. I was looking at the requirements and there's a GE prerequisites before getting accepted to the program.

This is the info I got about the prerequesites:

General Education and Nursing Prerequisite Requirements
The 60-credit requirement in general education and nursing prerequisites provide students with a foundation for professional nursing requirements and graduate study. Appropriate credits may be transferred, earned at Thomas Edison State University or earned through an additional variety of ways. All general education and nursing prerequisite credits must be completed prior to acceptance to the program. All science prerequisites must have been taken within five years prior to the start of program and reflect a grade of B or better for each course. The statistics requirement also requires a grade of B or better. General education and nursing prerequisites include:

General Education and Nursing Prerequisites  Credits
x - Introduction to Psychology 3
Developmental Psychology/Lifespan 3
x - Anatomy & Physiology with Lab 8 (A&P I w/out Lab/3cr)
Microbiology with Lab 4
Chemistry 3
x - Nutrition 3
x - Ethics 3
x - Introduction to Sociology 3
x - Statistics 3

Total 33

I completed the the courses with X, and 3/8 credits with A&P with lab. It says that the all science courses must be taken within the last 5 years of the start of the program and must reflect a grade of B.

My concerns are:

1. I have at least 5 years left of my contract in the Navy. In case I pick up next rank, then I am riding it through retirement. which is about 9 years from now. The only reason I consider this is because of my experiences and credits earned through the Navy as a corpsman. My heart belongs to mathematics Tongue . I don't know if I would want to start over with the Actuary program. I have 2 kids that will still be in their grade school in case I get out 5 years from now.

2. We don't get a grade score through Straighterline or other means of earning credits through ACE. How likely it is that I could get accepted to this program? Should I consider repeating the science courses to a CC/College/University if I'm coming close to the end of my contract?

Any advice is appreciated. This is a 1 year program for becoming a Nurse. I am considering finishing this and come back as a Nurse Officer for better retirement pay.

Ask TESU about ungraded prerequisites Smile Even if they are acceptable, it might put you at a disadvantage compared to other applicants, so I do think you should consider doing your A&Ps and Micro at a CC.

Have you considered becoming a CPA?
