TESU BA Computer Science BSBA CIS Double Degree Plan
#19
Anyways, for people going for a BALS as a first check the box degree, that's a great option.  They can add a BSBA if that's what they need or want later.  If it's the opposite way around, generally, I would get them to do the Bachelors and ladder to a Masters, or save the Bachelors for something later as TESU only allows 2 Bachelors.

Having said that, it all depends on the students needs and situation.  Each scenario is different, if the student is interested in learning other subjects that can lead up to a BALS Humanities, Social Sciences, or Natural Science & Math, then that may be a better option than just a BALS with no concentration.

Again, if the student is going to be learning, self-studying, or previewing/reviewing material, why not get credit or a secondary degree from it?  You're going to learn the subject material since you're young and have the energy, money, time to spend on it since you're in your teens.  You can supplement that with other hobbies, part time work, volunteering, and slowly get that second degree.

One thing to note, a BALS will most likely not get you into a competitive Masters degree, but will get you into any of the non-competitive Masters degree providers we've recommended, most of them being competency based and not butt-in-seat.  For most Masters at the semi-competitive level, you do not need a corresponding Bachelors for entry, you just need to "hit" most of their entry requirements.

I mentioned this here, read the info in regards to certification/licensing: https://www.degreeforum.net/mybb/Thread-...#pid362319
