Looking at https://partners.wgu.edu/Pages/BSMG.aspx it seems like everything but 22 credits can be transferred in. I'm not sure if that means they will accept all of those as transfers or if they cap how much you can transfer (One of the problems I have with going back to DAVE School is that they cap you at 75% of your credits being accepted to transfer toward the degree.)

I'll look into Saylor as well. Unfortunately, my work doesn't offer tuition aid other than individual courses that are specific to my job (I work for Vicon which is a company that makes software and hardware for Motion Capture. I install systems and train customers on how to use them so unless the course directly is related to what I'm doing they likely won't help. Might be able to get some of them covered though?)

I'm not very interested in marketing or HR, but IT management looks appealing as well. I'd rather do what will be easier/less stressful though.

WGU caps at 90 credits, but 30 credits is doable in 1 term.

If you had 4 courses transferred into WGU from SL (Straighterline) then you would be eligible for the WGU/SL scholarship which would take your $3225 per term down to $2725 per term (& you'd have 4 less courses to complete through WGU).  Note that with WGU all courses must be transferred in BEFORE Enrolling (not to be confused with prior to applying).

Perfect, this is exactly what I was looking for. I'll go ahead and apply to see if anything from DAVE School can be transferred (doubtful), and if I have any credits from when I tried to do CC right out of High School (which I bombed horribly)

So I applied at WGU and wound up speaking with an Enrollment Counsellor on my lunch break. I'm submitting my transcripts from my failed attempt at CC 9 years ago which might be able to get me a few credits + my DAVE transcript to see if they might be able to count some humanities electives and will be taking the readiness tests tonight/sometime this week time permitting.

In the meantime, I'll look into the free credits and see how many I can scrounge up.

Sounds like she's super willing to help me through the process in finding the right courses through SL, WGUA, and Saylor to bring the cost down as well as get through the program in 1-2 terms depending on everything.

An easy WGU course I keep hearing again and again is critical reasoning. Do that one at WGU and not through alternative credit.

That's fine by me, with the SL scholarship that means it's about $90/credit and even if I can't sort out 90 free credits it'll still be reasonable in cost and a pretty short time free which is ideal. 

Thank you for the tips, I'll check the subreddit out. Based off earlier posts there are a guaranteed 15-16 free credits already, and there are free CLEP tests in the area so I just need to do some studying to knock as much as I can through that. Looking at WGU Academy it's a flat rate of $125/mo and they have 15 credits available through that as well so if I don't test out of what's available there I'll probably take those.

And I got a copy of my transcript from the CC I went to, looks like I'll get 9-12 credits that are transferrable.

ART 110 Art Appreciation - 3cr (elective/humanities?)
ENG 090 Basic Composition - 3cr (doubt that it will be transferrable but maybe)
GEO 105 World Regional Geography - 3cr
PSY 101 General Psychology 1 - 3cr

Between transfer credits and CLEP testing with the ModernStates vouchers I have about 37 free credits and down to just 2 Saylor courses. I'm not sure where those free credits would fit in though from TEEX, etc would apply.

It looks like I qualify for almost $6k in Pell Grants for 2019-2020 but I'm waiting to confirm with WGU before believing it.
