TESU Bachelors to Masters program
#1
Just happened to read some promo email from TESU, about a Bachelors to Masters program. Once you have 90 Undergrad credits, you could choose to earn 12 graduate credits and earn a Masters. Has anyone here tried it out? What would be the cost of those 4 courses (12 credits)? How much would the total cost of the degree work out to?

It doesn't allow you to earn a masters with 4 courses, it allows you to take 4 masters level courses at the undergraduate tuition rate. For example, if you're on the comprehensive tuition plan, you could include 4 masters courses into your existing plan.

To clarify, you'll still need 120 (121) credits to earn your bachelors and 36-39 credits to earn your masters, but this program allows you to start on the masters coursework while you're completing your bachelors degree, and if the masters courses are complementary to your bachelors program, they can be used as credit toward the bachelors degree as well (i.e., up to 12 credits of overlap between the two degrees). Worst case, they may count as free electives (or Gen Ed electives depending on the subjects).

So it can make your masters degree 12 credits less expensive. You'll still need to take the balance of courses from TESU and pay full rack rate. Sad

The TESU Masters degree is way too expensive, even with 12cr at the undergrad price (which is also too expensive). There are much better options for a masters degree just about anywhere.

Yes! I looked up on the TESU website and Graduate level courses cost $ 668/credit. An entire Masters degree at TESU comes to something like $ 25000!!!

So here's the math- TESU allows you to replace 12 credits of a master's that cost $668 each with ones that cost $499 per credit. A coupon/savings of $2,000 off of their master's degree - but I'm a Ramsey fan, so that's not how I do math.

My math says you're SPENDING $6000 for credits that you could have bought from Studycom for $400 (because you need to finish your undergrad) AND that will likely NEVER TRANSFER into another grad program ever (once you use them IN an undergrad, they're shot)... so there's that.
