TESU Foreign Language BA
#1
I see TESU offers a foreign language Bachelors but the language classes need to be taken elsewhere.  Anyone have any experience with this.  Presumably, they would accept any language as long as the requirements are met?

This one seems hard to impossible to obtain. There are a number of specific course, such as a history class taught in the language of your choice, that can be very hard to find. I haven't seen many applicable classes, even for Spanish or French, which are arguably the most popular foreign languages in the US.

If you're set on this degree, check out the wiki page here as a starting guide: https://degreeforum.miraheze.org/wiki/Obscure_Credits Oregon State University is probably the most likely source for most credits you might need, but it depends on the language you want.
In progress:
TESU - BA Computer Science; BSBA CIS; ASNSM Math & CS; ASBA

Completed:
Pierpont - AAS BOG
Sophia (so many), The Institutes (old), Study.com (5 courses)
ASU: Human Origins, Astronomy, Intro Health & Wellness, Western Civilization, Computer Appls & Info Technology, Intro Programming
Strayer: CIS175, CIS111, WRK100, MAT210

My kid is enrolled at a state U. studying Russian but likely will not graduate from there for other reasons including no degree possible in that language and difficulties with math and science classes there - the plan being to dually enroll at TESU and use the state U classes to satisfy the language requirements at TESU. They already have Intermediate language courses and literature courses done, so just need the Advanced language courses.  I suppose it just depends how flexible TSU is in accepting state U classes. State U won't know or care.

If the university offers such classes and they're actually taught IN RUSSIAN, then TESU will take them. If they're taught in English, TESU will not accept them towards this degree.

Which foreign language are you looking at? Russian? There are a few languages offered in the "What If I change my program" option, but not sure if "every" language is an option for TESU. You may want to see what languages interest you before you decide, I think you can do a combo of ACTFL for upper level requirements and then find a final course or two from BYU-I, they have many language classes.

He'd likely do the International Studies BA is the language does not work.

Spanish is hard enough to find. French, you might just make it. I have yet to see any German or Italian courses that would work, but they might exist. Anything else is less popular and I have doubts about being able to find enough courses to get a TESU degree.
