sanantone Wrote:I hope it doesn't sound like I'm butchering your plan. I finally got a chance to look at it. Are you sure that the TEEX course can be used in gen ed? SL Managerial Accounting will cost $148 rather than $111 unless you have a coupon code, but that's not a guaranteed thing. Did you mean TECEP? Also, all of the TECEPs are now $114 rather than $111. I saved money on my plan by replacing the CLEPs (or SL) for macro and micro with the Saylor courses. You also have the SL Courses listed at $100 each. I saved money on computer concepts by using Saylor instead of DSST, but the DSST should be taken over the CLEP you recommended since it's easier. In the general management area of study, you listed more SL courses as $100. You can also save money on marketing or finance tests by taking TECEPs instead of Uexcel, CSU Global CBE, or a PF course.
Ok, I revised it. Left out any unnecessary TECEP's (kept Strategic Mgmt, Business in Society), Put in every Saylor course available, etc.
You have ALEKS Int. Algebra in there 2x, math doesn't count in Natural World, but we can move Saylor's Computer Science up there instead. You can use Psych & Soc in Human Cultures (along with Western Political Thought & Comparative Politics) to make your 9cr. I moved TEEX to Free Electives, and Kaplan to Gen Ed. Added remaining Saylor courses to Gen Ed.
The reason I have SL at $100 each is that there is no good way to know how much an individual course will cost if multiple courses are taken in a month. There are 6 courses on the list; if you take them all in 1 month, the cost is $79/course. If you take them all in 2 months, it's $95/course. If you took them in 3 months, it would be $112/mo. I'm kind of going in the middle, thinking that 6 classes in 2 months is doable for most motivated people. But obviously, that it entirely dependent upon the person.
You can also save a little with ALEKS by doing all 3 courses in a month (or two).
Overall, I got it to around $4,880, so we are pretty close.
Obviously, anyone who doesn't enjoy Saylor courses is going to pay additional. If you can't get through/don't want to do the TEEX courses, that will cost more. That kind of thing. But most people aren't coming from zero credits anyway, so they will be able to substitute in courses taken and bring the cost down that way (at least, the cost to finish - the rest is a sunk cost that you won't get back whether you graduate or not).

There is a special for 24 courses or 72 credits at a cost of $990. It's actually supposed to be a special for specific people, but there is a loophole where someone can sign up for it. I would only recommend it to someone who is starting fresh with very little credit and has very little time to do any homework or study. It would rival Straighterline, if the person would want to finish a bit over a year. The other methods used for getting credit would be cheaper and faster, by a bit.

Yes. This is the price per course if you were to take 21 courses through Study.com with the coupon. Due to the lack of necessary courses for the BSBA, you might be better off taking this route with a BALS or similar degree plan instead.
It's still more expensive than the cheapest route, but with that route (the cheap one), I question anyone's ability to take ALL of the Saylor courses and stick with it. There are just too many issues with a lot of the courses, including too much info, broken links, and general unhappiness with the layout.
The people on here who do SL or Study.com seem MUCH happier with their overall experiences than Saylor.

Yeah, I need to replace the ALEKS course. Originally, I had only listed statistics under mathematics and needed to add something else.
