Tecep enc101

looked at the English Composition syllabus today and they mention the required textbook for the class.
The book is:
Gwendolyn Gong and Sam Dragga, A Writer's Repertoire, with 1999 MLA Guidelines (New York: Longman, 1995).
ISBN-10: 0-536-17398-2

http://www2.tesc.edu/syllabus/current/EN...C-101.html

Has anyone used this as study material for the TECEP exam?

PurpleNova, it seems to me that you are either referring to a course, not a TECEP. I took ENC101 recently and did not have to use that book. In fact here is the "syllabus" for TECEP ENC101 http://www2.tesc.edu/tecep_desc/ENC-101.pdf

For the TECEP, I did not use any book. What I did was to polish my citation skills online using https://owl.english.purdue.edu/owl/resource/747/01/ When I became confident, I sat the ENC TECEP. I found out I did not really need to cite anything in ENC 101. The questions asked require short written assignments such as describing how bla bla bla can bla bla bla and writing formal and informal letters. For ENC 102,however, I had to cite. If you are taking 102, I'd advise that you sharpen your MLA citation skills. Since you are allowed to come with any writing book, you are free to go in with a MLA writing guide.

thanks for the link and explanation. I' m actually talking about the TECEP itself, unfortunately for me Im not real good at writing and was looking for some study material, thus the reason for my post. Maybe I should have been a little more detailed and gave reason for my question.

I thought it would be better for me to study a little before setting for the exam and was looking for good study material.

Thanks so much for your help.

Oh, I get the point now. Since I am not familiar with the book you were asking about, I am unable to comment on it. Maybe you should check reviews on Amazon or elsewhere to see if it offers some lessons on writing and not just a citation style manual. There are many books that help students sharpen their writing skills. It seems to me like you have got the writing skill needed to crush ENC 101.
