Test out for Certification at TESC?
#1
Can you test out for a certification at TESC? While I am interested in the BSBA in Public Administration, some of the classes for the certificate are also part of the degree program. Just curious if it's worth it or doable?

The Undergraduate Certificate in Public Administration is an 18-credit program that provides students with a solid foundation in the field of public service and policy. The program is designed to transfer easily into the Public Administration degree program at Thomas Edison State College.

It looks like you couldn't test out of very much of that certificate. It would end up being fairly expensive if you had to take classes, and IMO definitely not worth it.

I have been thinking about doing something like that myself. I have seriously been considering changing my degree plans to BSBA and then maybe pick up a certificate or 2 along the way or possibly a second Bachelors.

financially it might be a bit costly but if it is going to be a definite help in your future goals and you can afford the cost, etc - why wouldn't you do it.

Just my thoughts but I mean, why not. I can't actually see a reason not to do something like that if is going to help in the end. It basically boils down to whats most important to you.

Do the BSBA, I am!
I'm glad I switched to it. A LOT of classes are CLEP and DSST testable and the rest of them are available online.
I did Aleks for stats, StraighterLine for accounting I, II, business comm, Penn Foster for some CIS reqs and I'm almost done.
I started in Oct with Principles of Management and haven't stopped studying and testing since then. Its a wild ride but a lot of fun.

I am now studying Organizational Behavior.

Here is TESC's test out page. It will tell you which test equals which course.
I don't know about certificates but for degrees they accept all these tests no questions asked.
