Do you mean that Excelsior is somehow linked to UOP?

No it is not.

Excelsior started out as Regents College referring to the Regents of the University of the State of New York. They later were given state approval to branch off and become their own independent school and later changed their name to Excelsior College, the official motto of the state of new york.
