Tesu bals
#1
Does anyone know if bacs and bals are the only two degrees that you can get entirely from sdc and Sophia besides the 24 ra credits including the corner and capstone ?  Also how employable is a bals without a graduate degree ? What kinds of jobs does it set you up for ? Not knocking it one bit. It’s more than I currently have. Just trying to be informed and weigh options and keep them open. Thanks.

a BSBA is also easily doable

Certificate for the Study of Capitalism at University of Arkansas finished July 2022

MBA with Hellenic American University started March 29th, 2021 , finished May 20th 2022, Graduated in June 2022

BSBA at Thomas Edison State University started May 21st 2020 with Sophia and SDC, finished Jan 24th, 2021, Graduated on 12 March of 2021

Total time to complete both degrees 2 years exactly, total cost just a small bit over $10,000

Thanks Degreeforum!

You can also get a BSBA with multiple concentrations, get some concentrations with a BALS, get a Psych degree (you'd also need a TECEP and UExcel exam), a History degree, probably some others I can't remember off the top of my head.

You can also be smart about which RA credits you take, to get your UL's done (using ONU's UL courses); or as a way to get one of the history degree requirements.

Lots of good options at TESU.

As for a BALS = employment; it depends. That's really all anyone can tell you, because we don't know what you want to do, where you live, or anything else that's important to this scenario.

You could also do history. HIS-379 at Olivet Nazarene (RA credits) for the non-western history requirement and everything else can be found at SDC or Sophia.

Psychology is almost doable. You would need one UExcel, I believe, but everything else can be done at Sophia or SDC. And you could skip the UExcel if you took the relevant course at TESU instead.

It is possible for a BALS to be just as useful as any other non-STEM degree. While it is usually better to try to get a specific degree, a degree isn't always as useful as what you do with it. Having a STEM degree doesn't guarantee that you'll get a job and having a different degree doesn't guarantee that you won't get a job. I would suggest searching your local Monster/Jobing/etc. site to see what employers are looking for when it comes to the job you want.
In progress:
TESU - BA Computer Science; BSBA CIS; ASNSM Math & CS; ASBA

Completed:
Pierpont - AAS BOG
Sophia (so many), The Institutes (old), Study.com (5 courses)
ASU: Human Origins, Astronomy, Intro Health & Wellness, Western Civilization, Computer Appls & Info Technology, Intro Programming
Strayer: CIS175, CIS111, WRK100, MAT210

That is so true. My BFF’s husband has a master in Computer, something or other and is a teacher. He has tried to move onto to other things but can’t get past the interview phase. I don’t have a degree, yet, but have been doing Corporate training for over a year now. Before that I worked in Sales for over 15 years. I make more than he does. I just need the Diploma if I want to further my career. Now that I have the years of experience plus network, it doesn’t matter what that diploma says as long as I can check a box. That is different for someone just starting out with no prior work experience.

Yes. I learned too late in life that salary isn’t everything. I’ve made more than most teachers for most of my career, but Looking back I wish I would’ve been a teacher. The time I lost. Time is more valuable than an extra 30,40,50 thousand dollars a year. Now That I’ve figured that out  I’m pursuing my degree hoping to make a career change for the last 15 years of my work life.
