GPA: transfering in with Sophia credits
#1
I noticed on the Purdue website that they want to see GPA of 3.5 for courses in their masters program and will only allow 2 at a time as long as this GPA is maintained. Made me wonder about the gen ed courses I'm transferring in with Sophia. So far I'm been scoring around 85-87% the lowest was 71%. In all honesty I'm just reading the questions and answering based on what I know or what is the best answer. It's gen ed courses and nothing to do with what I'll be doing and I'm trying to get them out of the way. So, I wanted to know if it mattered that I was scoring well below 3.5... could Purdue deny entrance when they see the scores I'm transferring in? Just wondering if it really matters... should I be trying to score as high as possible?

Yes, it matters, I would try to get a better grade by utilizing their open book resources. You should try to score higher even though these courses shouldn't affect your GPA at all. The main reason you would want to score higher is, if you don't have "enough" 30, 45, 60 graded credits or whatever they require for the GPA, they may look at your alternative credit scores from ACE providers. This is for the "semi-competitive" Masters, most Masters programs that are from For-Profits or very non competitive institutions may look at all your requirements as a whole and give you a "conditional acceptance" until you show you can handle the courses and maintain a higher GPA. All in all, don't worry about it, just do the work better, easier, and try for the higher grade...

They transfer in all ACE credit as Pass or Fail, so there is no reason to worry about a score.  Your Credly transcript does not list your score.

Hello,
So will Purdue accept undergrad transcripts that have Gen Ed Sophia credits to their masters programs?
