They're both state university's. UoL would be an international degree which could be problematic for some folks.

The name University of London makes it obvious where the school is. If people are curious, they will google the school. The UK doesn't have a bunch of University of Phoenixes that cause people to confuse for-profit universities for public universities.

I know zilch about this school...yet I'm going to guess that it's a university...in London...am I right??  That's more of a name than many other schools in the US that are perfectly reputable.

Most of US employers prefer US education.

There's a lot of talk on this site about "faster/cheaper" and lots of schools are considered suitable as long as they accept maximum transfer credits from some maximum number of sources.  The University of London is none of those things.  It's ranked #232 in the world and is a recognized name across Europe (and beyond).  It is not especially fast or easy but they offer several tech degrees and certs through Coursera.  They also offer a much larger number of online degree programs across a wide range of subject areas.    They were doing distance learning with a global student base long before any US schools got into the game.  Personally, I would prefer to walk into a job interview with a University of London degree than one from a bottom tier US university.

No, you're misunderstanding.

University of London is an online / distance learning school just like University of Phoenix.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/University..._Worldwide

When we talk about UoL on Coursera, it's University of London Worldwide program. It's an unranked distance learning institution.

It has no strict admission standard.
non-English speakers can get in as well.

Goldsmiths, University of London is a real university. It's ranked.
Queen Mary, University of London is a real university. It's ranked too.
University of London Worldwide is an unranked distance learning branch.  Employers know that too.

Interesting. Didn't know the "Worldwide" part. Does the actual degree or marksheet reference "Worldwide", though?
