Liberty University Doctoral Credit by Portfolio and Experience Plus
#1
Hello all,

Does anyone have experience getting doctoral credit from Liberty University through their Experience Plus or Credit by Portfolio programs? Or experience going through that process? I am interested to see what that looks like, what doctoral programs accepted the most credit through that method, and what may have been attempted but denied. Their website says you must have experience in education, business, counseling, or missions but it doesn't necessarily say degree programs that will accept portfolio credit are restricted to degrees just in those fields.

Any other advice for work/life experience or alternative credits for doctoral programs would greatly be appreciated. Always looking at ways of shaving off a few bucks and some time.

Thanks in advance,

J

They are pretty detailed on what is allowed to be reviewed and what is restricted:

They lay out the exact degree programs that allows for credits, and there is a restriction to how many can be earned in this manner, while the rest of the courses must be completed in-house

I looked at that link in depth, there are some caveats in there about inquiring about courses not listed...which leaves one to believe there is a chance other options exist. Hopefully will hear from someone with experience going through that process that can provide some context beyond just what is publicly posted online.
