from the same link it says "Credit for Prior Learning" is from ACE, CLEP, AP, DANTES, Non-Regionally accredited institutions, and portfolio assessment..

How to Earn Credit for Prior Learning

Our CPL process evaluates your prior learning through several methods, allowing you to receive credit for your hard-earned knowledge.

ACE [American Council on Education] - Courses recognized by the American Council on Education, though taught by non-accredited training organizations, can receive UMPI credit.
Challenge Exams - This involves faculty developing examinations that may be administered to students wishing to demonstrate mastery of course subject material in order to earn equivalent credit.
CLEP and AP - The University supports nationally accredited and recognized examination options such as the College Level Examination Program [CLEP] and the Advanced Placement Examination Program (AP), both offered by the College Board
DANTES - Referred to as military CLEP and guided by ACE.
Non-regionally Accredited Institutions - The University may assess the transfer of credit from non-regionally accredited institutions on a case-by-case basis.
Portfolio Assessment - Students compile a body of evidence to demonstrate their learning and/or mastery of a particular subject. UMPI charges $50 per credit hour for assessment and processing costs.

I can see how the portfolio assessment "are courses you take at UMPI. You write a boatload and document like a maniac."

but surely writing a boatload and documenting like a maniac does not apply to ACE, CLEP, AP, DANTES -- yet those are included in "Credit for Prior Learning"

and that page says "In other words, the combination of all forms of Credit for Prior Learning cannot exceed a total of 15 credits of an Associate’s degree and 30 credits of a Bachelor’s degree."

so are you saying the 30 credit limit apples only to credits earned by portfolio assessment ?

because that certainly doesn't seem to be what the page says

Many of us have been waiting for this. I can't tell you how many times I have said how once UMPI introduces technology degrees, we will begin to see a shift of students from WGU to here. Maybe a 5/6th bachelors is calling for me in Fall 2

Yes, I am being told Cybersecurity had to be in the Fall catalog for administrative purposes but to expect a delay. I don't think we are going to be able to register until Spring 1 or Spring 2 next year. Fall 2 is still planned but I was told faculty and the demand for the degree is higher than expected. 

I see 2 things happening. They are going to hire more faculty and they are also going to increase the price of tuition. I know it sucks to hear it may be a delay but the fact it is definitely coming is great! This degree would allow me to apply to jobs in my company's IT department which I have been thinking of pivoting to for a while now.

I am finishing up the BBA PM/IS (they are allowing Fall 1 students to still get that concentration). I have 8 classes left.

I am  excited UMPI is getting into STEM. I think next year we will get the coveted B.S. Computer Science (hence all of those new math classes on Yourpace).  We just have to sit back and see what happens and keep one another updated in this thread.

UMPI has come a very long way. There is going to be some very serious competition I would imagine once people start hearing about STEM degrees being pushed out via YourPace. I don't think UMPI is prepared for the storm that is approaching on this tiny little (I know a double negative) school. I am excited to see what courses from my BS IT degree from WPUNJ transfer over to UMPI since I took some courses that specifically concentrates on cybersecurity.
