Dolce on the Discord reports that
- BUS 440 satisfies BUS 504, a core course in the MSB (every concentration),
- BUS 469 satisfies BUS 631 in the Communication concentration,
and these are the only undergraduate course transfers into the MSB at this time.

Cool stuff, that's the same two classes that can go towards the MAOL... Looks like a good degree progression, MAOL + MSB for those who want two Masters and can finish in one session each. For ~5K, that's two degrees, and if you have tuition assistance, you can go for two sessions each degree, each year and be done with two in less than two years...

Anyone have an opinion on whether or not these new MSB degrees at UMPI will be as writing heavy as the MAOL? I mean I'm assuming they'll have quite a bit of writing like all UMPI degrees, but I've heard the MAOL is a gauntlet of essays to write! Just curious.

My guess is that the quality and length of the MSB degrees would rival if not be equivalent in activities and assignments as the MAOL...

Yeah I’d probably wager the same. I just saw some posts speculating a few years back UMPI may dial back the amount of writing for future masters degrees because of all the complaints about the MAOL. Probably just wishful thinking. So for a masters WGU’s MSML or MBA are probably still the fastest options assuming you knock it out in one term.

Edit Reason: added additional information
)
Do UMPI YourPace master's degrees have rough drafts like their undergrad degrees?
Would an MS in business supplement or replace an MBA?
Has anyone heard UMPI discuss programmatic accreditation for their business degrees?
Does UMPI offer any financial aid to out of state master's students?
Thanks

1. Yes, they implemented that feature this past academic year.
2. Depends on your use case. It's not an MBA as there is already an online MBA program through UMaine. This was UMPI's way to offer something competetive but also get around the existance of that program to actually get approval from the Board of Regents.
3. Nah, UMPI has zero secondary programmatic accredidation for any of their business programs at any level. If you want CBE and ACP, then you want WGU. South College has CBE and IACBE for their Executive MBA degree program.
4. Yes, as a graduate student, you are eligible for unsubsidized federal loans.

It really depends on the prospective student, MBA's geared for business and non business majors or people who want to continue where they left off (those who took a few classes in business). Executive MBA are geared for those already holding leadership or management roles (thus, executives), the classes do vary as well... For most, the MBA is a basic or general degree, some would love the MBA but others would think they're a dime a dozen as so many go for this type of degree. Others would want something more concrete or in a subject matter closely related to Business Admin, that's why you have so many MAcc, MAOL, MSM, or similar degrees...
People need to decide themselves which would be better, it really depends on cost, ease, speed to finish, or at least a combination of those, in addition to a programmatic or secondary accreditation. Most of the time, RA is sufficient, IACBE is a non factor in deciding... ACBSP is great for those wanting to teach at the community college level (if preferred or required). AACSB is for those who want to be in the upper echelon (say 10%), but, if the college is well recognized in their area (or state), many just choose ACBSP or even IACBE.

I’m planning to apply for the OSU Doctor of Healthcare Administration and was told that MHA degrees from Walden and Capella won’t be accepted because they don’t use traditional letter grades.
I’m trying to transfer 10 credits in healthcare that match OSU’s required electives. I was advised to take them directly at OSU to save on cost, but the MSB at UMPI might actually be cheaper if the healthcare management concentration is eligible. The issue is, I can’t find the specific catalog courses for that concentration. If anyone knows what those courses are or where to find them, I’d appreciate it.
I’m also considering the new UMASS MBA in AI (CBE format new offering). For someone just trying to hold a credible master’s in business, how does that compare to UMPI’s MSB in terms of reputation or acceptance?
Thanks for any input from those who’ve dealt with OSU, UMPI, or UMASSS

Amberton University is launching a Master's in Healthcare Administration this fall. Tuition is $325 per credit. Amberton is an RA university with traditional letter grades. They have a variety of MBA's and other master's degrees as well.
