I’m trying to transfer 10 credits in healthcare that match OSU’s required electives. I was advised to take them directly at OSU to save on cost, but the MSB at UMPI might actually be cheaper if the healthcare management concentration is eligible. The issue is, I can’t find the specific catalog courses for that concentration. If anyone knows what those courses are or where to find them, I’d appreciate it.

The MSB Healthcare Management concentration is not available yet. It's projected to become available within about the next 18 months, and catalog listings will be available then. It will comprise six core courses in general business, six concentration courses specific to healthcare, 3 semester hour credits per course. Planning-stage descriptions of courses are available between p. 19 and p. 48 of the pdf pagination of this 2024 document.

I’m planning to apply for the OSU Doctor of Healthcare Administration and was told that MHA degrees from Walden and Capella won’t be accepted because they don’t use traditional letter grades.

I’m also considering the new UMASS MBA in AI (CBE format new offering). For someone just trying to hold a credible master’s in business, how does that compare to UMPI’s MSB in terms of reputation or acceptance?

Bruh, it could be two years before the Healthcare Management concentration is available for the MSB. I'd look at other paths if I were you. You would probably be near completion of the DHA by the time UMPI launches the other concentrations.

You could see what the courses are for each concentration now. The finance, business intelligence, supply chain, and project management concentrations all look great by looking at the courses.

Where are seeing those? Can you provide a link. I don’t see it in the course catalog.

Does anyone know if UMPI will be seeking AACSB or ACBSP accreditation in the future?


Is it possible to substitute one of the courses from another MSB path to replace one of the core courses?


It was previously posted that BUS 469 and BUS 440 will transfer into the MSB. What courses do they replace?


Does UMPI offer financial assistance for online, out-of-state graduate students with a high undergraduate GPA and GMAT?

To my knowledge, UMPI has never worried about AACSB or ACBSP. I wouldn't expect it in the future unless.

The MSB's aren't like the MAOL where undergrad courses can be utilized except for 2 classes mentioned on here. More info is on the Discord.

UMPI doesn't require GMAT. There is no financial assistance for online grad students at UMPI. I don't think I've ever seen this for online students as it typically involves research or teaching aka being a TA. Student loans are pretty much what's available for grad students unfortunately.

I emailed Professor Emery, the Chair of Business and Accounting, regarding my questions. I never had the privilege of studying in one of her classes, but she was friendly and encouraging in the Business Club.

Concerning transfer credit of BUS 469 and BUS 440 this was her response:

"BUS 440 Business Analytics meets BUS 504 Business Analytics and Decision Support Systems as one of the core course requirements.

BUS 469 Strategic Professional Communication meets BUS 631 Strategic Business Communication for the Communication concentration."

Professor Emery didn't mention it, but I extrapolate that everyone can transfer BUS440 because it is a Core requirement. BUS469 only transfers into the Communications concentration.

I inquired specifically about UMPI seeking AACSB or ACBSP programmatic accreditation in the future. This was Professor Emery's response:

"Yes, the MSB is accredited by NECHE, the New England Commission of Higher Education. NECHE accreditation meets the standards for most, if not all, doctoral programs."

SS20ts is a very reliable source of information but I hoped the MSB program might have new financial aid options and called to inquire. The Financial Aid office informed me that the only form of graduate aid are loans via FAFSA.

I have read various articles from reliable sites like, Poets & Quants, that discuss online MBA programs offering financial aid. Of course, these were all elite programs with total tuition exceeding $100k. I am referring to online MBAs at schools like Kenan-Flagler, Marshal, Foster, Kelley, Ross etc. They definitely offer money to those with high GMAT scores but I'm not aware of any affordable program offering money to online, out-of-state students like myself. I'd love to be wrong about that.

I am officially enrolled in the MSB-Communication for Fall 1, 2025. My first class has been added to my brightspace account. Sept. 2 can't come fast enough!

Would love it if there was some sort of Accounting concentration to go with the BA in Accounting. That would allow one to get the 150 required to sit for the CPA exam. The WGU MAcc is still an option though I suppose.
