For Texas Students and Those in the San Antonio Area
#1
I think the Accuplacer is a thing of the past for Texas Colleges. The Texas Success Initiative (TSI) now has its own placement exam that community colleges are using. I don't know about other Texas community colleges, but the Alamo Colleges are also offering ALEKS as an option for math placement. No, you can't complete the ALEKS course at home, put it on an ACE transcript, and send it in for credit unless the CC accepts ACE credits. I'm pretty sure you have to take the ALEKS assessment at the college. You have to score within a certain range to avoid remedial courses.

I was never too crazy about Accuplacer anyway, I hope that TSI has a better exam. Most of the schools that I know of, still use accuplacer but they could be in the process of phasing it out.
