Upper Level Biology Courses not Offered
#1
So I have 17 credits left to get a BA in Biology, including the Civic Engagement elective and Information Literacy. Almost all of my credits were accepted at TESU but I have one issue. The upper level bio courses that I have to take aren't even offered at TESU and I'll end up having to pay the Residency Wavier which I was not aware of when I applied. Where can I take these classes cheaply and finish this summer? I'll include a list of the courses below.

  • Analytical Laboratory Technology & Applications

  • Animal Behavior (Required to be taught from a biology department)

  • Biochemistry

  • Biology of Aging

  • Biology of Non-Seed Plants

  • Biology of Seed Plants

  • Comparative Anatomy

  • Cytology

  • Ecology

  • Embryology

  • Entomology

  • Epidemiology

  • Ethical Issues in the Biological Sciences

  • Evolution

  • Histology

  • Immunology

  • Invertebrate Zoology

  • Medical Microbiology

  • Microbial Genetics

  • Molecular Biology

  • Mycology

  • Ornithology

  • Parasitology

  • Plant Physiology

  • Plant Taxonomy

  • Public Health

  • Radiation Biology

  • Toxicology

  • Vertebrate Zoology

  • Virology

You need to create a screenshot or screen capture of your current academic evaluation, have everything in the capture but your personal details. There may be a few courses and notes in your evaluation. Anyways, you can take only a handful cheaply/inexpensively, the ones I recommend is from NMJC or other NM colleges, then Portage Learning and also Logan University - then there are options from Ocean County College, Doane, UNE, etc... those are a tad more expensive though.

What UL course(s) have you already taken? Did you take BIO-310? Are the cornerstone and civic engagement the only non-bio classes you need? You need 11 UL biology credits? Did you already take the capstone?

Can you post your evaluation as BJ suggested? For upper level science Biology of Dogs is a fairly interesting course (the quizzes are something) for some of the courses you listed suchas ornithology APUS has it and alot more of the others.

It's still best to send us as much information as possible, so we can see what was taken and what's remaining, and I think it's 17 credits, not 17 courses.

Unfortunately you chose a school/degree that doesn't have an inexpensive option for that.

Coopersmith has PSY-303: Physiological Psychology that may work (comes in as PSY-374)
BYU Idaho Online has classes for $160/cr - but you have to jump through hoops to get accepted (religions ones mostly). They have 3 UL Bio courses.
BYU-IS is $212/cr and has PSYCH 381: Behavioral Neurobiology that may work.
Doane University Online is $329/cr and has 8 UL Bio courses.

Honestly, I think you may want to get a Bio degree at a school that will have more options for you.
