For those of us who enjoy learning through video, I wanted to post some options for studying free online. There are many options for watching educational videos online, including some that will correspond to various credit-by-exam options. I used to watch the French in Action series when it was broadcast on PBS in the early 90's. I was beginning to study French at school, and thought it would give me an edge in the class. I learned a lot from them, and found the videos to be entertaining...an impressive feat for an educational film series. Many of us on this board may remember watching videos at school and hearing "Funding for this project made possible by a grant from the Annenberg CPB Foundation." What we didn't realize then that these types of video projects could later help us save money on higher education.
There are many different websites that will have copies of these items. The Annenberg Media website, Teacher Professional Development and Teacher Resources by Annenberg Media, offers free viewing of their education films, under the condition that you first register for a free account. Many of the same videos, and different ones, as well as audio recordings and study guides, are available at Free-Ed.Net.
For anyone who may be interested, I have created a list of many of the video courses which may prove helpful in studying for various courses/exams. I compiled this list from the Learner.org site. There are additional video courses available at the website, as well as course descriptions and episode descriptions. Each is a complete series of videos which last several hours in duration. The ones I saw typically last between thirteen and twenty-six hours per series.
Here is a list of several of the video series from Annenberg Media which closely correspond to credit-by-exam options available:
Against All Odds: Inside Statistics
Algebra: In Simplest Terms
American Passages: A Literary Survey
Art of the Western World
Democracy in America [a U.S. government course]
Destinos: An Introduction to Spanish
Discovering Psychology
English Composition: Writing for an Audience
Ethics in America
Ethics in America II
Fokus Deutsch [a German course]
French in Action
Growing Old in a New Age
The Habitable Planet [an environmental science course]
Human Geography: People, Places, and Change
The Learning Classroom: Theory Into Practice [a course in learning theories and applications]
The Mechanical Universe...and Beyond [a physics course]
Nuevos Destinos [a Spanish course]
Out of the Past [a cultural anthropology course]
Planet Earth [an earth science course]
Seasons of Life [a human growth and development course]
The Western Tradition [a history course in Western civilization]
The World of Abnormal Psychology
The World of Chemistry
You can probably find similar videos at your local library, and maybe even hard copies of the same videos that are on these sites. However, I'm just offering the links as an option for those who may be interested.
Here are some additional links which may prove helpful, but which I haven't personally explored in too much depth yet:
Multimedia Educational Resource for Learning and Online Teaching
MERLOT - Multimedia Educational Resource for Learning and Online Teaching
Online Education Database
Take Any College Class for Free: 236 Open Courseware Collections, Podcasts, and Videos | OEDb

Furthermore, if anyone has any other good links to free online videos that would be helpful in test preparation, please post them.
