Hello all. I just cannot tell you how excited I am about the things I have learned not only from the Site, but from everywhere about CLEPs, DSSTs and other "non-traditional" college degree seeking students.
So, it is my intent to make a video/presentation on the whole "Hey you, did you know you could do this" and post it on youtube. My main motivation is as I am in the military is to share this information in its details (as far into it as I can get without sounding obsessed) to my Soldiers in an easy fashion.
So, the reason for my post:
Besides the broad information found online about "testing out", what areas should I include and definitely NOT let out of my video/presentation.
Also, I hope noone else has done this before or I will look like a butt.
Thanks for your help in advance. I have a basic idea, but more heads are better than one.

Aaaw. On youtube.com? I checked out youtube.com and some videos just seemed boring. Do you have any "good" ones?
Thanks for the reply.

Something you might want to include is the distinction between taking classes online and independent study for testing. When I tell people I study on my own, on the computer, they (those who are more ignorant) automatically assume I am doing online classes.

Be sure to stress that it is legit and list off some kickass schools that accept them ..and be sure to list off some. I am so tired of people looking at me like I am some major scammer that is sitting in my prison cell printing off 3 credit reports that I am selling on ebay ! One so-called friend said "well I would be careful to check if it is legal". As if I would be wasting my time on something that 1) I had not checked out--what does she think I am, some idiot with nothing but time and money to waste??? 2) that I would waste my time and money on something illegal??? 3) I would tell her if I was doing something illegal or stupid ???
Of course, the people acting so above testing out are still wondering why they don't have even an AA after 15 years and are desparate to know who will win American Idol instead of checking out a CLEP book at the base library and jamming out a hard week or two or three of studying to take an exam to get their own three college credits.
Ohhh I sound a bit bitter today. Sorry! I am usually so upbeat and rah rah. I will go and get a diet coke and post a real We Are The World post in a bit. That all said...I am preparing my own "I am Done" thread but am waiting for my feet to hit the ground and for my husband to stop telling me how proud he is of me and to write the post without getting all full of tears of joy !
So how about adding in on your video some people with odd backgrounds and credit gathering systems on how they / we did it? Sounds like a fun and productive project!

If noone minds, I'd love to use posts from this forum as "motivators". Not sure if that is "plagiarism" or "copyrighted". I'll definitely list anything I use in the credits. I'll keep you posted. Thanks for the reply.
