WGU CS specific course transfers
#1
Hi,

Does anyone know of any courses we can take to meet WGU's requirement for the follow:

Ethics in Technology
Web Development Foundations
Operating Systems for Programmers
Introduction to Artificial Intelligence
Software Quality Assurance

I'm trying to get everything done that's available through Study.com, and hopefully a few of these.  Would be nice to transfer in the 90 (I think this is the cap?) credits and finish the final 30 in one semester.

Thanks

The only one I know of is Ethics in Technology - DSST has an exam for that. Otherwise, I think those others are going to be ones you need to take at WGU. You have to take 30cr there anyway.

But, you may be able to find different WGU courses that can be done via alternative methods instead.

In addition to the above, there should be a transfer guide for each degree program on the WGU website that will give guidelines for what can be transferred in (and what cannot), whether some of the requirements can be met simply by having a prior associates/bachelors degree, and the types of courses that can be used to satisfy the competencies for each.

For example, you can find guidelines for the IT college is here. Each of the degree programs offered by the IT school have a transfer guide listed there.

I don't know if that helps you at all, but using those transfer guides I was able to map out a pretty decent degree plan for WGU when I was considering going there for a second BS degree. The WGU partners website can also help fill in specifics for classes that are covered in an articulation agreement, but for the rest, you may just have to make educated guesses, do google searches, and/or ask your admissions counselor to check on for you.
Working on: Debating whether I want to pursue a doctoral program or maybe another master's degree in 2022-23

Complete:
MBA (IT Management), 2019, Western Governors University
BSBA (Computer Information Systems), 2019, Thomas Edison State University
ASNSM (Computer Science), 2019, Thomas Edison State University
