I am not a graduate of Walden. I am just curious why you are planning a PhD in Sociology. That’s what my bachelor’s was in. I’ve never really figured out a way to do much with it other than “check the box”.

Happy to explain that. I'm teaching Intro to Socio right now for two schools, but it would open up better paying schools with a PhD. That's what I'm going to use it for is to get into a more full time higher education teaching position. My bachelor and master is in social science with the master being mostly all sociology classes so it was the natural progression.
The classes I have right now are electives and very low-key so I'm going to try to speedrun a masters in psych before the next term of the PhD. If I fail I should at least have 18 credits to be able to open up more classes I'd be able to teach with my full masters.

I think sociology degrees are mainly used for corporate diversity offices (that are long gone now), academia, and sometimes in human resources with additional HR courses.

And market research. And social policy (public policy). And nobody doubts jobs in criminal justice, and academic criminal justice is in large part an offshoot of sociology.

Truth. I keep eyeing the criminal justice degrees especially the ones that have a concentration in cybersecurity.

Does it have to be a graduate? Can it be a current student? Actually, my enrollment lapsed... You might want to see if current students work, if it does, we can update the thread and see if there are any students that are active still...
