Walden Tempo - MBA program is back!

But... there doesn't seem to be a discount on the tuition yet!   Other degree options seem to be lacking a "better" limited-time savings discount, a majority of their discount just ranges from $1,000 to $3,000.   Hoping to see them change the discounts around a bit, hoping for more of a discount in other words.  Only time will tell...  https://www.waldenu.edu/why-walden/flexibility and https://www.waldenu.edu/online-masters-p...#track-iii

I doubt the 50% Tempo deal is coming back.  Sad, I was waiting for my M.Ed. to be conferred before enrolling in the next thing.  I was really interested in the Tempo M.S. in psychology, but not at the higher price point.

LOL, just when I thought they wouldn't have a deal, they come out with this... haha, it's found on their "Limited Time Savings" page. Degree type, change it to Masters. Flexible Learning Options, change it to Tempo Learning and you can see the deal!! Oh and the link: https://www.waldenu.edu/financial-aid/li...me-savings

Hmm, even several of their bachelor's programs have savings of $1,000-3,000 if starting on the 5th.

EDIT: I'm seriously considering trying to enroll in their BS Criminal Justice using this offer. After the $2000 discount, it would be just $325 for the first term. The CJ program offers a computer information systems security track, including many courses that may be relevant to a cyber security degree. Walden accepts Sophia, which would take care of most of my gen ed and allow me to focus on the courses I want. Transfer equivalencies at TESU look decent. Unlike many other CBE programs that treat everything as a B, Walden transcripts credits as an A if a grade of "Mastered" is earned. Any downsides or gotchas that I'm missing?

EDIT 2: Yep, there's a catch in the fine print. The $2000 tuition grant is doled out over four terms.

In addition to that page, check out the Limited-Time Savings Details page here. That has everything with all of the fine print on one page. Here are the currently listed offers for the First subscription at no cost tuition reduction:
  • MS Human Resource Management - start date April 5, 2021
  • Master of Business Administration (MBA) - start date May 3, 2021
There are also several offers for the first course at no cost, but the start dates for those have already passed.

Is anyone going to attempt a free Master's degree?

I love the idea of a free masters degree.

But then theres the matter of doing the work for a masters degree....

I've heard Walden's masters are heavy on writing. Also, they are basically impossible to finish in one term especially with no transfer credit. (I've yet to see a post of someone finishing a waldens masters in one term from scratch or even with transfer credit)

I'll pass.

It looks like Masters in I/O psychology is available too? Does anyone know how long it takes to complete one course? I suppose worst case scenario it would cost $5700 for 3 semesters, if the first one is free. Does that even sound achievable or would I be living at in my office 7 days a week for 6 months?
