What degree should i peruse
#1
hi guys i am a newbie here to this forum. i wanted to take a moment to thank all of you for helping others achieve their goals of higher education. it is awesome to read through all the threads and see the insight given to navigate the non traditional education. i have spent the past two days reading (literally) through the threads and i think i have an understanding of what would be the best degree for all my credits. but i need other inputs.
i have 7o credits from community colleges that i want to transfer into TESC. i am thinking a BA in Liberal Arts or Natural science would be the best route. what is your opinion?

English
english comp 4 credits
english lit 4 credits

Humanities
intro to business 3 credits
intro to old testament 3 credits
french 1 3 credits

Math
intro algebra 4 credits
algebra 5 credits
college algebra 4 credits
statistics 4 credits

sociology
intro sociology 3 credits
philosophy 3 credits
world history 3 credits
art history 3 credits

sciences
intro anatomy 3 credits
physiology with lab 4 credits
microbiology with lab 5 credits
emt with lab 6 credits
first aide 3 credits
psychology 3 clep

i guess what i am asking is what degree would take most of these and where? where would they fit in the degree plan?
thanks for your input.

I believe TESC has a Science/Natural Math degree that might be right for you. Someone else that's done it can fill you in. With your 70 credits and science background you are very close, You could be done by the end of the year if you apply yourself! Just glancing at those credits looks like you need to complete the Upper Level requirements (usually 30 hours but might only be 18 at TESC) and a few more gen eds. Your really are almost there.

You can likely teach HS with a Bachelors and a teachers certification...though a masters will certainlu increase your marketability and perhaps your pay.

Once your ready, take a look at the MA-Teaching thats fully online from Morningside MAT Professional Educator 18 hours online from Morningside and 18 more from VESI and you could finish it in about a year for around $5K.....of course thats for after you get the Bachelors, I'm just thinking ahead Smile
MBA, Western Governors University February 2014
BS Charter Oak State College November 2011
AS in EMS August 2010

I'm always happy to complete the free application waiver for those applying to WGU (I get a free gift from WGU for this).  Just PM me your first/last name and a valid email so I can complete their form.
