I signed up for the instant cert academy

When I would get a flashcard wrong because I forgot a plural it drove me nuts:mad:

Now I don't even try to answer I just click next read the answer and try to understand. If there is something I can't figure out from the answers I wiki it. I have passed every test so far. Smile

It is a different way to study, but using IC and Peterson's has been all I have needed for most exams

The new version cards seem to be better on the spelling issue. I used the new version cards for DSST Western Europe Since 1945, and hardly ever a snag over spelling, possessive, plural, etc. The version 2.0 lite option is also great. The fussiness and slow speed of v2.0 are removed, but the benefit of having two blanks to fill in instead of one is maintained. The best of both worlds!

rusteelorcin Wrote:So basically all that's provided to us is the flash cards? A question is asked and i need to fill the answer but since i do not know the content i cant fill out the answer? what's the proper way to prepare for a test using just instant cert? What exactly I'm i paying $20.00 a month for?

I used IC for a couple tests and it took a while to get use too. Although I have since dropped the service, it was helpful, but I too was VERY disappointed with the format.

I found that if I went through the cards and entered NO answer at all I could study the answers. After a few time through the cards, I would start entering answers, and when I got to 65-70% I tested.

It's not the greatest format, but better than nothing.

**NOTE**
Make SURE you read the entire answer! I found many of the real test questions contained info from the answers provided.

This may be old news for most of you, however tonight as I was studying for my next CLEP I came across this website.

Information in this format was just what I was looking for. I have no idea why I haven't stumbled across this before.

you probably won't get the answers correct the first time, but after reading through and grasping the concept you should be able to answer them the 2nd, 3rd or 10th time around.

seems pretty basic, but it is! and that's the beauty of instacert. I completed the marketing exam last week with only instacert study, it's well worth it. 20 bucks a month is nothing compared to the thousands of dollars you can save with instacert and clep, i.e.,

I've earned 24 clep credits in six weeks

6 exams x 90 (clep cost plus exam fee) + instacert fee 20 = 580
24 x tesc rate (180) = 4320

savings of $3,740

all made possible by the $20 instacert fee. Helluva return.

I am having trouble finding the "specific" forums for the tests I need to take....any help?

You have to be a paying member of the service to get the specific feedback. It is well worth it. Many excellent students have given great info there.

If you are a paying member, after you sign in the first time, when the second page loads look in the upper right hand corner. Sign in again. Now there are 4 forums instead of 3 and the bottom one is the specific exam forum. Once you have clicked on that, there is also a second search area so that you can search that forum specifically.

Happy CLEPping!
